FX chains control from control surfaces

Is anybody doing this successfully?
 
I tried to set-up some custom chains last night. All works as long as you stick to the mouse, but when trying to adjust parameters from the VS-700 via ACT (if FX chain is in FX bin), things get quite odd and functionality is less than satifying (http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2808140).
 
When inserting the FX chain into the ProChannel, it gets really messy. Knobs and buttons are all messed up i.e. knobs work as buttons giving you either 0% or 100%; some knobs are not assigned at all ... really poor implementation; looks like no one ever even tested this ...
 
So I wonder if somebody can do this properly with MCU or other ACT/MIDI controllers???

    lol.   i just found this thread by searching only to find that I was the only one who replied.  I haven't tried it yet- too busy.  Guess i was hoping somebody else would be the guinea pig.
    i'll give it a shot.

    no worries, mate. same here. too much too drink, not enough time ...

    i just went back and checked my (auto-response) mails from the cake problem reporter; while several other reported issues made it to "submitted to development", this particular one just made it to "under investigation" ... i wonder what that means ... better unplug that webcam right now ...

    btw, did i say 'drink' up there? dr. freud talking, beer it shall be then ;-)
