FX3 Soundstage

Don't know if this is the right forum but, does anyone know where I might find the help file for FX3 Sounstage? It won't open in Windows 7, says it needs a WinHlp file, but when I try to install the WinHlp file, it fails, it doesn't recognize the file type. I know it's a long shot, but thanks.

Thanks for the reply, Gary. I found that page earlier in my quest, but could only download a file that my W7 machine couldn't open. I found a solution though. I installed FX3 on my internet machine (XP), and the help file opened up without a problem. I appreciate the help! Milt.

Is Soundstage running in X1 for you? I thought that was a DX plug and X1 no longer uses DX. If it is running I would like to install it. I loved that plug. I also run Windows 7. Would like to know if you have any issues with it.

Hey Sidroe, I don't have X1, I'm running 8.5 Producer and FX3 Soundstage works well with it. I'm also running Reaper, and it works very well there also. I haven't had any problems running FX3 on my Windows 7 64 bit machine.

Thanks. It might be worth it just to load it up in my 8.5. I hope they will build the ability to use DX plugs back into X1. I miss alot of my favorite plugs since they stopped using DX.

X1 still uses and can use DX plugins. They just have to be the same bit-ness. So 32 bit sonar can use 32 bit DX plugins, 64 bit sonar can use 64 bit plugins.

You can install 32 bit sonar on a 64 bit windows system and it will run fine. As well as install and use 32 bit DX plugins on a 64 bit windows system.

The problem comes when you want to use 32 bit DX plugins in 64 bit windows. For that you need a wrapper like DXshell or Acon Effect Chainer that will run DX plugins as VSTs, then you can bit bridge them.  But that's a bit of a hassle.

If you really need 32 bit DX plugins, just run the 32 bit Sonar. No fuss no muss.
