FYI - New Windows 10 'Active Hours' will help schedule updates around your schedule

I thought I would post this here, as it will be helpful to Sonar users running with Windows 10 to avoid it performing Windows Updates at inopportune times:

Unfortunately, I do not consistently have 'active hours' or more to the point 'inactive hours'. I find that going into services.msc and stopping the Windows Update service then setting it to disabled is a more viable solution. When convenient, I temporarily re-enable the Windows Update service and then manually run Windows Update.
I never had Windows Update automatically install updates going back to Win98 so my method is not really more of a hassle. Essentially I still do the 2nd Tuesday thing or I update if I read about a fix for some zero day threat.

I just read that it may not be possible to disable the Windows Update service on the Home version. I guess Home users are stuck with the Active Hours method or keeping the PC off the internet.
For other reasons, when running Sonar, I disconnect from my LAN so I created two batch files with desktop shortcuts that allow me to turn my NIC on or off so I do not have to physically yank the network cable.
I also read that even with the Pro version after the Anniversary update, certain group policy settings are now unavailable.
I hope that 3rd party fixes for this type of thing appear shortly. Maybe something like the old 'TweakUI' utility.
