this is excellent, really natural jazz sound... I'd love to know the process you used to put this together... Very impressive...

Well it's a bit distracting to listen to the song and the people talking.  Not my kind of music but when I could hear the music, it was very well done.  I love the double bass sound very well recorded, you did record that???

So do you play everything??  If so well done.

Next time could we have the tune without the office geeks though.

I updated the first post with a link to the tune by itself. Corner Jazz

    Mark, Cian:

    Thanks, guys.

    Frank:

Thanks, this was a real quickie ( think I spent about 90 minutes on it, tbh ) and I tried leaving it as natural as possible with a lot of room and life to it.

    Ben:
Well recorded? It is all done in the box with no live instruments: that double bass is from the Kore Bass Library, Piano from SampleTank, marimba from Philharmonik, and Addictive Drums: Jazz brushes on the kit. Throw on a little nice 1176 compression and a touch of room reverb, and voila! instant jazz.

Nicely orchestrated piece.   Nice complexity but with a groove.  Yes, extremely jazzy!

I like the music a lot. It is really good. This would be fun to play.

I don't like the sound of the bass. It's purely subjective but I like a smoother bass sound rather than one that sounds like the guy/gal is whackin away on the strings. Or course, it may be these Bose puter speakers messing with it.

I like how the drums work the beat really well but thought there could be more comping on the snare to anticipate the transitions. Again, purely subjective.

Other than that, I love it! Very well done!

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Well, no doubt the voices in the video (which did not load up first time - internet slow?) were way louder than the music. Glad you included just the music in the second link. Sounded good, but if in stereo seem to not be too spacious for the mix, or is that just working in a corner office.

Great stuff, really nice composition as others commented and recorded incredibly well ( as always ). I'll have to go check out the video now.

This fits the video very well. Loved the plug at the end!!!! Great job!

    gratz on the palcement James.

Nice piece, I did not like the piano sound so much, but I thought the precussion sound at the end was excellent.  They sounded real.

Anyhow, another good job at hitting yet another style.

Lively jazz tune with a toe tappin' beat.  I didn't see the video, just listened to the music by itself and really enjoyed it.  Good stuff!

    Nice Manhattan thing:

Smart, delicious, awesome.  Sounds a lot like something for Dave Letterman, or other late night stuff, too.

(PS. I love the sliding piano amidst all the other jazz elements)
