Factory Yoyo present: Bossa No One, an oldie but a goodie
Wrote and recorded this almost 5 years ago when I was just getting back into music. A little trippy French Bossa Nova tune. Not up to my usual stuff, but a little bit of a lark on my part. http://soundcloud.com/hammertoe/bossa-no-one

James, Very enjoyable listen. I don't understand French so have no idea what you are saying but enjoyed the music. Very creative. Regards

Really cool James. Great vox and vocal treatment really fits like a glove. Love the instrumentation as well.

You have very diverse tastes in music. All the submissions I've heard from you are always first class, and this is no exception. However, my feet tried to do something other than the bossa nova. Since I'm not a dancer, I don't know what they were trying to tell me other than this song is moving.

I am impressed by your sequening abilites after finding out the last Jazz tune or the double bass was sequenced. Ok a bit of fun, but a really good attempt at a Bossa Nova. Peace Ben

I wanted to listen last night but the boy had crashed out. This was certainly different from the Yoyo factory (to me) and actually? I could see it playing under an erotic scene! LOL! Or over? (depending on how you like it.) I don't speak French so I'm not sure what was being said, but I don't think it was, "Wow, would you look at that sunset?" After listening, I can never claim my vaunted quest for most versatile... I can be "one of?" But not "the most..."

interesting tune.... Quite different from your normal Factory Yoyo stuff.... But still an enjoyable song. It's nice to go back every now and then to listen to some of the older stuff.... it gives you a chance to see how far we've come in the interim. When I do that... I think, maybe I should just delete those songs..... but they are all a part of where I've come from as is true for all of us..... Wonder where we'll be in 5 more years....

As usual, a very clever tune. but, really, this one should accompany a short film sans dialogue.

I really like this work. It is one of those that could never come through my mind and into Sonar. I never hear this type of creation. It is refreshing to hear such diversity in construction. Regards, Lance

unusual in a cool way! I'm not fond of the vocal treatment all the way through - it makes it difficult to understand (even if I understood french! ) what did you use for that acoustic/nylon at the end?

Listened yesterday and thought I posted. Oops! Well, I thoroughly enjoyed this departure from normal, for you and many of us. Very cool sounding tune that made me smile. I pictured you on a beach with Astrud Gilberto, dancing and laughing. Kinda made me mad! I liked it!

Love it!!!! This seems to have simmered well over the years. Quite cohesive for an uncohesive style. Great overall Production!!!

Thanks guys. I shoud have been clearer: while I wrote the song some time back, I did re-mix it, which is what you hear here. Believe it or not, that is the CW Session Drummer in there. Original version, too! As for the french: I wrote some sappy lyrics, then used an english-french translator app on the web to teach me how to say it. Even though I am mispronouncing like a madman. And it didn't help that when I recorded it all those years back, I wasn't careful with my mic technique and there is a huge amount of background noise. So I had to use a telephone-style two pole filter to get rid of the rumble and hiss. Kinda has a certain crappy charm this way!
