Factory Yoyo presents: Chump
Simply put, an orgy of rifftastic hard rock goodness. I wrote most of this song two years ago, and then never got inspired until recently to finish it. If you have ever run into a drunk loudmouth at a bar or club who was all bark and no bite, you will relate... Chump (Walk Away) http://www.ourstage.com/t/DZOBIDDNICGA?u=1f3e2f

nice in your face drums to kick off. the verse riff is a bit naff, but love the change-up bridge/chorus. this song suits your multiple vocal track approach immensely. some sweet guitar work too, i love the 80s style chorus on the lead...in the middle, you might need to rename it Chump (walk this way)...but a cool semi-nicked riff is still a cool riff! the segue into the solo reminds me of classic Guns'n'Roses...nice bit of lead work too...all in all another triumph, i love the way you just add a little drum fill here or another vocal track there to maintain interest...

Love it! Guitar is awesome. The vocals are so in your face I kinda wish the rhythm guitars were even hairier, tad bigger or something, maybe some slight distortion on the bass. Small nit though. Drums sound great. Very cool tune, sounds like a lot of work went into it. You've hit a good stride man.

Very impressive production as always James, I love the confidence to 'go for it' you show in the vocals and background stuff; some of it's wild, but it all works! Not my favourite song of yours, but still very good indeed.

Spunky little rocker. Vox sounded like they might be a tad too much up front. Cool drums.

James, Wow, you are such a chameleon from a music standpoint, I just never know what to expect. That is a good thing. Great rocker here but with a twist of something else in there that I can't quite put my finger on. Very powerful. Great performances and the mix sounds great on my speakers. Definitely an "in your face" tune, nice work!

Hey James this was one of my favorites by you, the mix and song were top notch. Really cool, especially from the 3 minute mark out. I will also add props to you for being able to write lots of different styles as Tony pointed out. Nice job, thanks for posting this

Hey, James, This is one cool, punchy rocker with a lot of nice surprises! Great lyrics, snappy, energetic layered vocals and harmonies, dynamite guitar tone and killer solos. I really love the driving bass sound on this and the drums are excellent. Nice clean mix with good dynamics, to boot. I think this ties "Ocean Parkway" for my favorite of yours. Really good stuff, buddy! Bob

Thanks for the listens, guys. This one was written unlike any other tune: the main riff was two years old, the boogie middle came early in 2010, the Metallica/Priest release and lead was this past spring. I knew it was really too much in terms of changes/parts/influences, so I tried to even things out somewhat. Some individual responses: Mark: "Naff"? I had to look that one up, as it isn't used too often on this side of the pond. Ed, Rick: Yeah, the guitars could use some more hair on 'em, upon listening again. I usually dury my vocals,a nd have tried to bring them more out in front lately. Overcompensated, I guess. Band (is that you, Robby?): Yeah, all Pod Farm.

That's a nice one, with a lot of humor to go with the balls out music. I kind of for some reason got a Guns and Roses vibe, though I'm not sure why. I like the little breakdown bit as well, and it's got lot's of variety to keep it interesting and motivating along. I would need a fair percentage of the primary product of Columbia to do a song that energetic :-)

Wow, what a trip. Someone sign this guy up for the CHB vocals. Amazing outting here Jim, even for you. And you had this sitting around for how long again? Seriously, this floored me. I couldn't catch all the lyrics, but what I did hear were really good. The vocals were just awe inspiring, as were the drums, and, well, pretty much everything else too. Spectacular, really. Man, I'd love to see what this project looked like, especially the vocal processing. That this tune went un-commented on for nearly 3 days is really a sad thing.

Love the guitar tones and riffs on this one. Some of the riffs had a funky flavor despite the rockin attitude. Great vox, like Mark Haigh gave you some pointers. Solid mix, funny lyrics, another terrific effort, James.
