Factory Yoyo presents: "Victory", a song for Philip

A little ditty about faith while dealing with the impossiblities of understanding Life. A song dedicated to Philip and his family as they try to make sense of it all.
 
Since he inspired it, I used a lot of Philip's motifs: kids vocals, prog rock patterns, slinky Moogs, positive choruses.
 
I wish him and everyone of you a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Very cool song James. I like how everything sits together. Especially that wimpy snare! ;) Just kidding! Actually, I just put my headphones on (hd 280s) and it sounds even betterer. Maybe to much reverb on the vox during the verses. It's really cool during the long notes.

Not really, but they were on that drum roll thing before the chorus!

Sounds good in my phones though my right ear is only functioning at about 10%.  Infections reign since surgery, little, aggravating ones.  This tune really captures Philip's style.  I was surprised at the way you did a YoYo/Philip production here.  Some really nice sections in this tune that really captivated me!  I too hope that whatever Philip and family are going through is getting better.  Fine job, JYoYo.

I wish I could write like this. What I like about your songs is that every verse or chorus, or even within them, you keep the listener on edge... "anything" can be coming around the corner and it's always pleasant surprises!

 Wow James, never listened to any of your stuff before. You really have a gift there for unique combinations that work well together...and the mix was great too. I found myself wanting to hear the rest after the first few seconds.

Don't know the story but great song & production. Sounds like a cross between Rush & little bit of Stranglers to me.

this is fantastic,as everyone says...your singing is immense on this. and yes, Philip is a great person, for whom it seems life has been a bit unfair. It would indeed be good for all of us to hear you collab again!
