Faderport & Sonar 8 not responding to fader touch

I don't know if I need to return the Faderport as the touch sensitivity works in Cubase 4LE, but with Sonar when rewriting fader automation it only writes while moving the fader and not while just touching it as it should.  Consequently if not moving it jumps back to the envelope already written creating "canyons" or gaps in the automation envelope.  Has anyone else experenced this?  Thanks, Jake

I've seen other Presonus hardware that works great in Cubase but takes a lot of configuration to work in Sonar.  My new Firestudio Project, so far, is working OK but I had an earlier model that took a lot of time and trying different configurations before it worked.

I have a cheap Behringer BCF2000 and it works great in Sonar.

I usually tweek the envelope or delete it and start over as I have experienced the same issues.  Could turning off "read" solve this to re-program levels for only a portion of a song?

Hi,  Been high in the Rockys for a week but now back to my Faderport problem.  I have figured out how to work around it pretty much and like the other functions (transport, etc.) but just need to figure out if I have a defective Faderport (I can still return it) or if this is normal when using Faderport with Sonar (8.2).  Thanks, Jake

If you suspect it's bad and within the return period, get a return authorization and return it for a replacement.

In ref to my previous post about getting a new Firestudio Project, it's history.  It was flakey and would work one time it was powered on and the next it wouldn't and was returned.  That was the second Presonus firewire unit that I bought that was defective.  I now have an M Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R and it works without problems.
