Fantom Not Available

There was a similar thread but did not address my issue.


64-bit Creation Station PC with V-Studio 700 and Sonar X1.  Manual says to use Fantom, go to Insert | Soft Synth and either pick Fantom VS or look under Rewire Devices.

Fantom is NOT listed under Soft Synths and Rewire is Grayed out.

Ideas?

    Did you install the Fantom VS with SONAR X1? It only gets installed under the Advanced install options during the X1 install, and it must be selected manually.

    If it is installed, try re-scanning your VSTs with all options checked, and make sure the Fantom dll is in your VST folder, or point SONAR to the folder the Fantom dll is in.

    And if you are using SONAR X64 be sure to use the X64 hotfix dll on the Fantom support page.

    Thank you. Sweetwater installed Sonar X1 on the PC so I don't know how it was done.  How would I go back and install it?  Thanks.

    Install SONAR from disc, choose the Advanced option, and deselect everything but the Fantom editor.

    I did that and Fantom appeared here under SoftSynth menu... Had inserted it, made some changes in Midi setup (Fantom VS in, Fantom VS out)... Tryed also A-Pro in, Fantom VS out, None out, and quite everything inbetween including combining whith thru mode, Fantom in, A-Pro in, none and so on... (just to cut out my doubts)

    Not even the virtual keyboard in Fantom VS worked out...  I noticed that the plugin GUI blinked a few times and, after that, received a message "ünable to read/write data"... After that, all the patches are gone (probably because thay can't be readed)and the only patches I get is GMs... Wich I cannot access as well

    I never achieve success in use this Fantom VS thing... Not even with 8.5... (now I am on X1 b)

    I ended up sending all my equipment back to Sweetwater for a complete reinstallation since their first attempt at configuring it was messed up.  Everything seems to be working now.  Thanks!
