Far be it from me to complain ... AGAIN ...

Thursday is garbage day. Cool, we have that settled.

We had a blizzard and got a foot of snow so no garbage pickup. Reasonable. Can't complain.

Friday we were still snowed in, county didn't plow the road until Friday afternoon. So, everyone on the street figured garbage pickup would be next Thursday, back on regular schedule, so nobody put out their garbage.

Well, it's Saturday ... sitting here eating breakfast and looking out the window ... here comes the garbage truck doing 50MPH down our 25MPH street, he gets to my driveway , turns around, goes halfway back up the street, a guy hops out of the passenger side of the truck, does a little 'dance' (Yes, he danced), in the middle of the street, jumps on the back of the garbage truck, and waves down the empty street as they speed away.

Ok ... if you're going to pay your idiot's to go pick up garbage ... time and a half on a Saturday ... maybe you should let your freaking customers know you are coming so they can put their damn garbage out? Y? N? M?

Honestly ... the moron stood in the middle of the street dancing and then waved goodbye.

And I'm the one that's unemployable.

Ok. I'm done now.

Yes, I've missed garbage pickups.  I always lookup online but that's IF they have posted any updated notices about it. Holidays is another one to watch out for.

Every day is garbage day (in the FSF anyway).

He must not be your run of the mill garbage man... he's a Sanitation Engineer.

Our garbage has to be right at the end of the drive way, exactly.  If it is sitting 2 feet from the end, they will pass it up.  Come on!  At first I thought this was just a fluke, but sure enough, after some experimenting, not right at the end, no pick up.

OK. Here's what you should do:

1) Pick up phone

2) Dial garbage company

3) Report said event to driver's employer

4) Hang up phone

5) Adjust bill to reflect lack of service

For next time:

1) Video record the event & post on YouTube

2) Send garbage company link to YouTube posting or send DVD with your payment

+1...  Absolutely. I would have been on the phone within minutes.

I was thinking, ahh ... it's only $40 bucks a month. But then I realized, well, wait a second, they only come 4 times a month, so that's $10 bucks they screwed me out of.


One of my neighbors piles his garbage up in a huge pile and has a large bonfire every couple months. They are a large family, so there's a lot of trash. I should do the same and give myself a $40 dollar a month raise.

I used to do it up in Iowa, but stopped because it was too windy. It's a lot milder down here. Well, except for that blizzard last week, and the second one that's going to hit tomorrow afternoon. :( But other than that, seriously, the weather has been awesome down here compared to Iowa.
