Far be it from me to complain ...
... BUT ... if I ever get my hands on the snot nosed punk who thought it was a good idea to shake the camera, zoom in and out so fast your eyes can't focus on anything, point the camera off subject then pan up and zoom in so close and so fast you don't have time to even comprehend what you are seeing, I'm going to beat your dumb ass so hard your great great great grandchildren will feel it. Dude ... look ... I got a freakin' ax in my head ... I'm not joking here! And if I ever get my hands on the morons who encouraged the little snot nosed punk, I'm gonna beat your ass too! I was watching a show last night, the season finally of some ghost hunting type show. It was about a haunting in an old theater. They found this 30 second clip of footage in one of those time capsule thingy's. They go on and on about how awesome the footage is and at the end of the show they finally put it up on a projector screen to show the client. The ***king idiot camera guy twists the camera, moves it up and down, and zooms in so close to the screen you can't see anything but a blur. Hey adzehole ... ever watch your own crap on an actual TV? A 52" one? It SUCKS you idiot. Camera men of the world, STOP IT WITH THE DAMN SHAKY ZOOMY BLURRY VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!! We live in an age now of high definition, 80inch 4K TV's for $30,000, blu-ray, 192kHz audio, 10.2 surround (ok, I made that one up) ... nobody wants to see your freaking hands shaking or you diddling with the damn zoom and focus controls like some 8 year old that just got his hands on his dads Sony 8mm HandyCam ... m'k? Hey ... it's gotta be a better thread than Susan Sarandon banging a mentally challenged Asian kid ... right? I mean, did you actually look at the pictures ... omg.

I think they do that intentionally on those ghost shows. When you actually see something, anything at all it gets you excited after seeing all of the crap so often for so long. I dig the unknown but those shows drive me nuts. I read recently that ratings of those kinds of shows is falling. Duh...I wonder why? A 1 hour show with 20 minutes of commercials in it and then when you see them nothing is ever solved. So things that go bump in the night move hankeys. I understand that. It's just more of the same old. Proof that we might need more than our science( or a showman) to figure it out.

Thank you everyone, thank you. I had a 32oz diet Pepsi and a jelly donut for breakfast, it may have been the caffeine and sugar in those. :) I wrote this last night on my cell just after watching the show. After 3 times of typing it, and the forum crashing my phone, or vice versa, I threw it across the room, and went to bed. It was still on my mind this morning, so I came back and vented. To me, it really is a problem. They are doing it on all the new shows. Those auction shows, pawn shop shows, almost all of them. There's some really cool stuff they find and you rarely get a glimpse of it because some producers mentally challenged red headed step child is filming the crap and you can't see anything half the time. It's very frustrating to the point where I don't even watch them anymore. My DVR used to be filled with all of those shows. Another one is that trucker show. They do this digital zoom thing with the camera to make it look like they are always driving straight off the edge of a 3,000 foot drop, then they come back from commercial and they are just floating along calm as could be and the meth addicted 3 tooth chick, you know, the one who keeps a horse in her living room, says, "Oh-wow, uh-huh, shwee-hoo, dat was cwose!." It's stupid and it makes me wonder just who is watching this garbage, and filming it? I just sat down to watch TV for the first time in almost 2 weeks. been busy with other stuff. I didn't miss it at all and I guess I was immune to the out of focus crap before until I got away from it a while. It's just garbage. Absolute garbage. I hope I have good net access where I'm moving in MO, I won't even get cable or satellite. i'll just stream what i want to watch or rent it ... which is almost nothing anymore.

I do agree with you. I don't watch those shows where they produce the show with non-steady cameras. they did that some even in some recent big movies, too, and I hated those scenes (Transformers, maybe? I'm not sure). it all started with The Blair Witch Project. so many people thought that was "the bees knees" and producers have been copying that tactic since. I hate it myself. It IS just garbage.

I didn't see the three tooth meth addicted chick yet. I'm sure I would have remembered that. Hey, it was a diet! Lisa Kelly is the girls name. She got her teeth fixed now that she's got some serious money rolling in from the show. All pearly white and so straight and true you could launch the space shuttle off them. I was hooked on that show Ghost Hunters when it first came out. As the years went on, they kept finding more and more stuff to keep their viewers, but when it very first started, they usually found nothing. 1st few episodes, "Well ma'am, the reason little Billy doesn't want to sleep in his room is because he's a spoiled freakin' brat and he's just saying there's a ghost in there so he can jump in to bed with you at night. There is no evidence of a ghost here whatsoever." 5 years in to the show, "Oh my God lady, you gotta get the hell out of here. You're kid is possessed by the frickin' devil himself and he's going to kill you and you're entire family! We need to call in our "Demonologists" and do an exorcism." Don't know if you ever saw the show in the early days, but they had certified demonologists that would go with them on 'the bad' cases. LOL. It was these guys who were twins. One of them went on to do a different show and they ended up nailing the host for being a fraud and they got exposed by a bunch of people on the net and the show was canceled. EVP's, Orb's, and my favorite one ... "Personal Experiences", you know, those things that happen that everyone saw and heard, including the camera guy, but nobody was able to capture on video or audio ... these guys got it down to a science man. The only saving grace of that Ghost Hunters show is, they do it all for free for the client, and they did it for free for 10 years before the show even aired. That's the only teensy weensy bit of credibility I give them. Ah well. Whatchya gonna do. I better go do something constructive. :)

I'm a huge George Romero fan ... He came out with a movie called Survival Of The Dead back in 2009 iirc. I was so excited. Raced to the video rental store, rushed right home, made popcorn, drinks, got surround sound all set up nice and calibrated ... 90 seconds in to the movie I almost threw up and had to stop watching because the movie was shaky and everything was moving around so much. The entire thing was filmed with a hand held camera and was shaking nonstop to the point where I got sea sick. I was disgusted. :( It's not too often he comes out with a new movie, so it's a huge deal to fans when he does and this one was a spectacular disappointment. Edit ... the movie was Diary Of The Dead, not Survival Of the Dead. SOTD was actually an excellent movie. It's the first time Zombie's moved from the human to animal kingdom! Don't watch if you're a horse lover.

Bub, I agree 100% with you. But let's face it, even though you appear to be a bit of a spring chicken, you are in fact metamorphosising into middle aged man. You are becoming more pedantic, grumpy and beligerent by the day. Things that were at worse, minor irritants, have now become topics of heated debate. Welcome to the club. Welcome to my world. But on the plus side it's really great when you get to embarrass your kids by describing things as 'Cool' or (much worse) 'Groovy'

I said good riddance to my TV 10 years ago for precisely this reason. Apart from the fact that 99% of TV is just the most shallow, contrived, rehashed BS and has been for at least 20 years, I simply cannot stand the "modern" production techniques, which are obviously aimed at the most shallow simpletons in society. Basically, TV (especially the commercials) reminds me of the lowest common denominator it's aimed at, and this makes me angryed! One thing which especially boils my pish is the modern tendency of documentary shows to have thumping "chrapno" in the background throughout the whole program. This, again, does nothing but make me despise the kind of people who cannot concentrate on a show about giant oil rigs unless there's a constant lite-house beat in the background. Sometimes you can't even hear the freaking narration for the music.

You are becoming more pedantic, grumpy and beligerent by the day Me too Steve. I posted something on FB about living in a neighborhood where I can hear someone cutting grass every morning and every evening, seven days a week and that the guy who mows across the street uses one of those hugh mowers with a little platform on the back where he stands... and it does not seem to have a muffler, or the muffler has a hole in it. I am maybe 200' away and cannot stand to be outside when he mows, it is absurd. The neighbor called me to ask if it was his "guy". I told him I was jus a grouchy old man but yes, it was. He said he'd check it out. I was going to get a SPL meter and check it... still might. What really bothers me the most is that it is every freaking day. I can't wait until the leaves fall and they all break out the blowers... It seems like every day my wife asks me if I am mad... no, I'm not mad. I just don't like chatter and I wasn't listening anyway. I think my most often used word is, "WHAT"?? I think I need an application for club membership. J

J Oh yeah ... I stopped watching that one too. That and the one with the burly guys in the woods chopping down the forest and always fist fighting. And the chopper one too ... The only new good one I've seen is that Worlds Worst Tenants and Repo Games. That WWT show, if it's real, is amazing to me. My wife has her doubts that the stuff they show really happens. She thinks it's all staged. Little old ladies growing pot in their apartments, illegal meat processing to be sold on the black market, some creepy dude that ran wired web cams in to women's apartments through the vents and sold the video's on the net, hidden sweat shops in peoples garages ... it's really an amazing show if it's real. Speaking of monsters did you read about the guy who got killed the other day trying to scare people along a backwoods road, dressed as Bigfoot. Somebody ran their car in to him and the guy behind that car creamed him a second time for good measure! LOL!!!!! It's not funny that he died, but the whole thing is hilarious. http://www.businessinside...tempting-a-hoax-2012-8 I think all we have to do is cover aliens and we can wrap this thread up. :)

Bub, I totally agree with the OP and will gladly hold these idiots down while you twist their pea-brained little sculls off. Mike

sharke I said good riddance to my TV 10 years ago for precisely this reason. Totally agree. I missed TV for a good 12 - 15 years during the mid 80's and all through the 90's. I couldn't tell you one thing that aired on network TV during the 90's. I was playing in a band at the time and was always gone. I know, apparently that's a bad thing. ;) J/K! :). When I started watching it again I was shocked at all the sex, scantily clad women, and general filth. There's a channel called MeTV that airs all the comedy and drama shows from the 50's up to the late 70's. That channel, which is free over the air, and a few shows on network TV are about all I watch anymore.

I was listening to talk radio the other day and ABC News came on. "Hurricane headed toward Florida" "Mitt Romney running mate to give speech" "Housing market on the rise" and ........... "Snooki gives birth to a baby boy." ABC NEWS! Why is "Snooki gives birth to a baby boy" on the ABC News feed? I just don't get it. MeTV is great. I love Svengoolie! :)
