Farewell jBridge you've served me well!
Now that Drumagog has become the last of my go-to vsts to go 64 bit I no longer need jBridge. Just wanted to thank the guys here on this forum for alerting me to this software wrapper 4 years ago, to Cakewalk for integrating it into SONAR back in version 8, and to jBridge itself for being such a handy tool that made my life easier when it was neede most.

I too made the deliberate choice to go to all 64-bit plugins, and my system has never been more stable.
I have a single project left with a freeware 32-bit Minimoog clone, called MinimogueVA. It has served me well, and does work in 64-bit Sonar, but I was able to take advantage of a fantastic deal on the V-Collection from Arturia, and one of the 10 synths I got for $199 is their Mini-V, which is a reasonable 64-bit replacement for the MinimogueVA.
The V-Collection also has 64-bit versions of: Juno 8, ARP2600, Modular Moog, an Oberheim, and some other stuff I can't recall. GREAT deal - it is now back up to $399, so I am happy to have gotten it when I did.
Anyways, 64-bit plugins in 64-bit Sonar are extremely stable for me, and I am having more fun than ever with it all.
I agree, BitBridge was OK, JBridge even better for some, and not needing either is best of all.

does x64 sonar install any x86 plugins by default? i'm x64 pure, so don't want to start messing about with bridging etc, would i have to do a custom install to avoid this? tia

RXP is one that I know of that is still 32 bit with SONAR. I have Battery so I use RXP's content but not the synth. If you have an older version of SONAR the VC 64 is 32 bit and always will be. Great plug-in, but for me with all the Pro Channel stuff I don't need it anymore. You can do a custom install and avoid those vsts if you like. I have them on my system, but SONAR doesn't see them.

I do not believe the 64-bit install does any 32-bit plugin installs, and in any case they would go to the 32-bit program files folder.
I have both 32-bit and 64-bit Sonar installed, for just in case purposes, and once the last of my projects that references a 32-bit plugin is completed, I will be giving serious thought to removing the 32-bit Sonar and all 32-bit plugins permanently.
I am LOVING 64-bit only 64-bit Sonar.

The basic 64bit install does install 32bit plug-ins, for example DropZone and RXP. The plug-ins install in the 64bit Vstplugins directory. The basic 64bit install will not install 32bit plug-ins which do not work in 64bit SONAR. At least that is what happened on my machine and I do not install 32bit versions of SONAR.

Wow - another day I have learned something, my streak of such days dates back to somewhere in the womb.
I always install 32-bit Sonar first, and then the 64-bit, so I was not entirely sure.
Sounds like BitBridge and/or JBridge will remain viable then, for some time?

The recent change in BitBridge's status may make jBridge redundant for SONAR installations. IIRC, Noel mentioned Cakewalk now owns the BitBridge source (my paraphrase).

Yes I remember him saying that when X3 was released that they will hopefully develop Bit Bridge further or at least get rid of the teleport server errors people get. FYI when doing an install of 64 bit SONAR it will create a Cakewalk folder with a vst subfolder in the x86 folder tree whether you use 32 bit plug-ins or not.

I am still keeping my 32bit SONAR install (and all associated 32bit plugs) up to date.
AS far as 32bit only plugs I have the following left that may or may not ever become 64bit.
AcmeBarGig - Head Case
Buenoise Plugins - Metal 1 & Rock 1 drums (I've only used Metal 1 on one song, never used Rock 1 yet)
The above plugs use the same dev platform that has yet(?) to become 64bit AFIK.
Empress Plugins - Empress Tremelo
Voxengo - Boogex
FerricTDs
The three above plugs were only used once in a collab where the track was sent to me using these
Bill Wall Plugs - LimitX and BoostX (I REALLY LIKE THESE PLUGS but they are wonky in X3)
Elevayta Boys - SpaceBoy (I have a 64 bit alternative but i just find this one easier to use)
PSP Audio - PSP Nitro (not sure if I ever used this one or not)
SampleTank 2.5 - DO NOT get me started on ST3. Very soon I will be uninstalling 2.5. End of an era.
mda_leslie & VB3 - I have alternatives.
