Fascinating New Instrument/Effect from 2CAudio

It's called Kaleidoscope.  It looks like it might be all the things the Izotope's IRIS should have been and then some.  Not cheap ($199 intro price) but I suspect there's nothing else quite like it out there.  Check it out here:

    thanks, dmbaer...will check it out while platinum downloads... was really disappointed IRIS2 didn't deal with stretching algorithms in 2...   you mucked with Harmor or Serum?  Too bad Apple bit off Alchemy2...

    Will have to demo... website is extremely vague and unhelpful. Does look intriguing; Galbanum waveforms... got lots of this already.  They could do a better job conveying what it is; let us know if you try the demo...

    I'm not aware that there's been anything other than speculation regarding Camel Audio, so I haven't given up hope on that one.
     
    I own Harmor.  It is a brilliant creation with incomprehensible documentation.  If only Harmor had documentation as good as Alchemy's.  I suppose one could just play with it enough to figure out all the possibilities, but I haven't the time.  In any event, what little I do know about Kaleidoscope suggests it has very little in common with conventional additive synths.
     
    To me it looks like a fascinating and inspired piece of technology probably best suited to creating soundscape/ambient/soundtrack type sounds.  As such, I have little interest in acquiring it for my own use.  But that doesn't mean I can't thoroughly admire the inspired thinking that went into it.  I'll probably read the documentation just to learn more even if I never bother to download a demo.
