Faster Leslie Organ Effect

Greetings!
New to Dem Pro. I've gotten the Hammond Jazz 3 (rotary on mw) loaded and the mod wheel does indeed speed up the Leslie effect. It sounds great but I would like the rotary effect to go faster and perhaps deeper to sound more like the real thing. Tried a few knobs but it was not obvious :-) Thanks for your thoughts!

That particular preset uses Chorus as an insert effect to simulate a Leslie. The base values (with the mod wheel 'at rest') are in the FX row. The upper limits (mod wheel at 'full throw') are set in the MIDI Matrix. Click on the third icon in the group of 4 (just to the left of the DIMENSIONPRO logo).

The top Matrix slot uses 'Fx LFO Freq 1' as a destination, at a rate of 5.42 Hz. Increase that value for a faster 'Leslie' speed. The second Matrix slot adds 100% to the Input level. This setting won't make the effect any deeper. It simply varies the combined output from 'some Leslie' to 'a lot of Leslie'.

The Chorus (front panel) has its LFO Depth set to 50%, which is about right for a standard effect of this type. You can increase that Depth knob to exaggerate the 'wobble'. Careful: a little goes a long way here, so start at about 75%, then adjust it up or down from there. With more Depth, you may want to dial down the Input knob next to it to 0%. That will allow the MIDI Matrix 2nd slot to take the effect from 'no Leslie' to 'full-on Leslie'.

Wow, great instructions I really appreciate it. First time I've used Dem Pro. The sounds are great, but no manual? I went to the download site and there's a dozen documentation downloads, but nothing looks like a manual. Setting the values via mouse is really a pain. Is there a better way?
    Thanks again!

You might try the free VST "mda leslie" at: http://mda.smartelectronix.com/

Don't know if it's automatable but I think it has a slow and fast setting IIRC...

You can use me as your eSoundz referral (altima_boy_2001).

The sounds are great, but no manual? I went to the download site and there's a dozen documentation downloads, but nothing looks like a manual.
The only downloadable document close being to a DP manual is the Dimension Quick Start Guide. This is the earliest version of Dimension that came with Project5, so it's not complete. Are you saying that the Sonar8 version (or standalone boxed version) didn't come with a printed manual?

At any rate, the Dimension Pro User Manual.pdf installs to C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Documentation by default. For quick access from the synth's interface itself, click on the DIMENSIONPRO logo. You'll get the 'splash' screen. Then press F1 to bring up the documentation.
Setting the values via mouse is really a pain. Is there a better way?
Once you have the 'focus' on a parameter (by left-clicking on it), you can use the mouse scroll wheel, L/R or Up/Down arrow keys, Page Up/Page Down, or Home/End as shortcuts. Each set of Qwerty controls makes adjustments in larger/smaller increments.

Once you get a little deeper into DimPro, there are all sorts of ways to control parameters via MIDI messages.

Right, no manual that I have seen (with the Sonar8 release). Could be here somewhere I suppose on a disk, but I haven't noticed it.

Thanks for your thoughts. I find it sounding great, but it has crashed and hung some odd sounding notes here and there. Hope it's still supported as there doesn't seem to be much PC activity since 2007 as far as fixes and releases go. Again, just my naive observations and thoughts.
