That's the type of Jazz I play. I just hit a bunch of random notes and chords with even more random timing. Should a note sound especially bad, I make sure to go back to it and hit it again with emphasis to let everyone know I meant to do it.

Scholars think Jasm derives from or is a variant of slang jism or gism, which the Historical Dictionary of American Slang dates to 1842 and defines as "spirit; energy; spunk." Jism also means semen or sperm, the meaning that predominates today, making jism a taboo word. Deepening the nexus among these words is the fact that "spunk" is also a slang term for semen, and that "spunk"—like jism/jasm—also means spirit, energy, or courage (for example: "She showed a lot of spunk.") In the 19th and early 20th centuries, however, jism was still used in polite contexts. I wouldn't have a pet tarantula, but I might use them to hide in the cupboards or toilet of someone's house during a party. Makes for some YouTube-worthy moments.
(I also don't eat crabs, but lobster tails with melted butter are wonderful!)

I think you may need to step away from the magazine stand section of the kids pool and realize that there are actually some people that you may run across on this forum unbeknownst to your self that have actually played and did some hard core dues playing with Iconic Jazz Performers Unlike popular music , Jazz Musicians have always made it a point to keep the focus on the music first and mentor players of merit ... It would be totally against everything I'm about in my soul to drop names and hit you with some of the people in Jazz I have played with ... Trust me Man , I guarantee you most folks couldn't handle the truth if I ever spilled the beans about a time in my life that was magical ...Don't be fooled for a second by that little bull$it resume i put up for soundclick I have broke bread with the absolute cream of the crop .A few of them even took me under their wing for years and helped guide my musical development .... There's a reason why I like to fly under the radar .....I could have been so much more . carry on Kenny

well, I don't think your indignation is warranted. Name dropping is very common in jazz anyways, wouldn't bother me a bit, it's all ballyhoo. In fact, these kinds of posts are one reason I can't stand the jazz and CG worlds, they both take themselves WAY to seriously. I blame academia. The truth is (btw) there are many, many,many people in the industry who throw off quality music day in and day out for movies, radio, TV you name it. Media is everywhere these days. There's nothing romantic about it. If you want romance, read a Harlequin.
