In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Hi, Paul McCartney in RAM
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Wow, guys thanks for tis thread - forced me to check up Lennon's stuff on iTunes. I had no idea that they'd re-issued Double Fantasy in a "stripped down" version, with just the more basic arrangements. I dug the album, but some of it sounded a bit dated and not in a pleasant way. These simpler version are much more interesting IMHO. A shame that the guy spent so much time burying his voice.

Maybe not the best, but Steal and Glass is definitely a huge favorite. Really comes across as one of Lennon's most honest moments.
