Fear and Loathing in the Laptop Shop ...

Hi all I'm going through the madness of buying a laptop. Its primary purpose will be to run Sonar & SF via a USB sound card. I will be using an external drive for audio. I'd really appreciate someone taking a look at this spec sheet and telling me what, if anything, appears amiss. I have gone with Toshiba in the past primarily out of habit - and because they have a good service dept here in town. The price is New Zealand dollars. http://www.laptop.co.nz/?page_id=694 Many thanks

Maybe I can trust a little bit a laptop with an intel i7 cpu...but it might work very hot. If you ask me I'll go with a desktop computer that can be modify if you need to.

Asus P6T Motherboard Intel LGA1366 Platform
    Intel Quad Core™i7 920 Processor
    6 gigs DDR3 Ram
    Windows 7pro 64 bit
    Roland GW-7 workstation
    Korg Padkontrol
    M-Audio U Control Uc 33
    1010 LT Delta Sound Card
    Project 5 V2.51
    Sonar X1 Producer
    Komplete 5

I notice 4gb ram.. I replaced mine with 8gb.. depends on what your using, synth etc wise
HD again on mine was a tad small on my pc.. errm 300 or something.. replaced it with 1TB internal

the beauty of a desktop still is the drive space and well the monitor side of thing.

does it have usb3 or e-sata again that'd be nice.. mine only does usb 2 as it was bought ages ago.. also i5 acer.. BUT gfx card could be better
