Feature Request: Lanes Zoom and Visibility Issues

Hi Guyz...
 
I'jm about to post this feature request and thought maybe some of you would like to copy/paste it into a request of you own... the more who request, the more likely to be attended to sooner. I hope I avoid collissions as I want things added, not taken away... for those who are happy with the way things are and to give user choice.

Please make the Lanes capable of the same zoom levels as any tracks. If there's a problem related to button size or such, I understand. Maybe allow a toggle to allow/disallow zoom smaller than button size for those who so need those buttons large.
 
The Lanes should be able to zoom as tall vertically as a track... At least "all" lanes within a track to zoom to full size as was in X1. Though it would be nice if we could zoom a single lane full screen...
 
It would also save screen real-estate if there was an option to "display lanes within track space" so that they would appear much like layers did and allow for more dense screen information.

Yes, I'm using X2. I pre-ordered it as fast as I could! ;-)

I can't change my sig... I've tried a number of times but no matter how much I delete, the system gives me a message telling me that I have too many characters.... Even brought down to only my name...

So I gave up on trying until there's some change to the forum... (update?)

Overall, I'm much happier with X2 than I was with X1 (bugs aside)... and if the Lanes can get straightened out, I'll be a very happy camper... That's far better than my "mood" for the first year of X1! ;-)

I just sent my own version of the feature request for layers to be returned:


"I like the new lanes for envelopes, but I miss the old layers for audio.  Layers seemed to be much more efficient in terms of space and editing audio.

For envelopes there is an option to switch between a lanes-view and an in-track view.  Can we do the same for audio, so that an in-track view of audio basically brings us the old layers view?"

Nice.  I was inspired and just sent in a similar request.  Now that I reread yours I probably should have just copied and pasted.  Yours is more concise and direct.

Thanks... I posted this thread after FastBikerBoy suggested it to me in my earlier thread. He suggested that it be something others could easily copy/paste to make it fast and easy for other users to file the Feature Request...

So I took his advice and thought about the post for a few minutes before posting instead of my more "live", pour-my-guts-out post I usually do... ;-)

The important thing is that the topic gets posted to The Bakers by as many people as possible...

This is because when you edit the footer  put in lots of spaces which you need to delete after each line. Also try using a different browser. Yeah the forum software sucks :(

I didn't think of that... I'll try a couple of different browser/machine combinations and see if it helps...

Funny... I don't frequent many other forums on a regular basis,  and this forum software has it's difficulties... (?). I find that I like the look/feel of it better than any of the others...

Things are always a trade-off, eh? ;-)
