Feedback on mix (very appriciated!) (explicit content)
Would very much appreciate feedback of this mix, so I can make any final changes before taking it to mastering. I need new ears for this! http://soundcloud.com/illerill/crazy-****-mix1-01Thanks in advance!

Hard for me to be a good critic on this one as this is my least favorite genre...however, the mix sounds well balanced except I think the entire vocal track needs to come up 1-2 dB for intelligibility. Instrumentation choices seem well thought out. I guess I'm too old to get the use of such foul language in a tune when there are so many other ways to say the same thing. That's why I don't don't listen to this flavor of music much.

listening on laptop (none the less important for good translation). Overall this is well balanced IMO and that anything from here could be fixed with a good mastering engineer. Good choice of instruments. I think the vocals dont need to be any louder. The beat will be king in this type of tune. Good stuff. carefully crafted. Cian

I'm somewhere between Cian and Tony with this. The actual production will be helped by some careful mastering, and it will then sound like thousands of misogynistic songs. All that's lacking is artistry and cleverness, imho.

mate, have you ever actually had a girlfriend? Mix is fine - I hear drops in level on the rap from time to time.

@Lynn, It's not the track I'm the most proud of, but you think it's that bad? The lyrics was just for me and her really as nobody else can relate.

Well I think I'm with Tony on this one, I tried my best to give it a good listen but couldn't make it through the whole way. My least favorite genre for sure.... all that aside, you have the mix down well enough. If you're wanting vox to be understood, it needs some work here and there, probably just some levels and EQ is all. John

In the end, you're only as good as your audience thinks you are. illerrre @Lynn, It's not the track I'm the most proud of, but you think it's that bad?

illerill, Ill be honest I dont think this is bad at all. This genre has those type of words in it, I think the verse lyrics fit really well actually. The chorus is fine but "your a crazy ****" is a little elementary when it comes to lyrics. But for this type of music the groove of the lyrics with the beat is most important and I think youve nailed that. I get a wiz khalifa vibe off it. I'd be proud of it and I think its worth mastering as is. But to take your art to the next step, you need to focus and a little more on alternative lyrics and maybe bigger vocal hooks for the chorus. Good work, Cian

Thanks alot for the feedback cian. I'm really taking all feedback I get into consideration. I already have some tracks recorded where I believe I've stepped it up, and some that might be like this one. Oh, well we'll see what people think of those when they're done! Anyways, I'm working on an album too and as I said I'm really taking your words into consideration to step it up! When it comes to the language it's just who I am. Since I was 8 or so I've been having such a foul vocab. So it's not like I'm adding it because of the genre. It's just me being me.
