Feedback while monitoring/recording
I am using a Lexicon Lambda for my electric guitar and it in turn is running over ASIO. The track works when I play and record, the problem is that I am getting massive feedback if I pot the channel at all. I am using headphones to monitor the recording as I am playing so there is no chance that my output is feeding back through the guitar pickups. Related, possibly, is that I cannot sample .wav media files with the media browser unless I attach them to a track and then play back my song. It is a real cumbersome way to search for sound clips... It used to work in the browser when I was using the X1 trial, now that I am running my own version of Music Creator 6, the browser does not play.... Thanks.

you have an internal feed back loop connected somehow.
It would be helpful to see the inputs and outputs you have set up and all the channel/track settings.
I have also noticed that on some of the extremely high gain settings on some of the amp simulators I have played around with, I will also get some feedback but, I have them cranked up in their GUI.....
Just like in real life, if I crank my boogie up it will feed back like a mic is attached to it through the PU's.
tell or post pics of the settings you have and we can see what you are doing.

I will attach some screen shots, but I am not 100% sure what is useful. I have since moved the output from my headphones to the system speakers, and the feedback problem is nearly as big. But, everything on that track sounds really tinny and has static. Even when not using my guitar, but running .wav files on the channel too.

http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2299538 Did you try this? ^ Make sure your screen's zoom mode is at 100%. The forum software doesn't like some browsers. Internet Explorer 8 works for me.

Good. Don't use the RealTek. Using 2 different sound card/interfaces cause lots of problems. Make the Lambda the playback and recording device. Connect your speakers or headphones to the Lambda. Go to Lexicon's web site and download/install the latest drivers for the Lambda and your operating system.
Once that's done, change the Driver Mode to ASIO.
See if that helps.

Thank you for the reply. My original configuration was using ASIO and both input and output setup to use the Lambda. That configuration created a lot more feedback then using the speakers, but all the same I will move then output back to the lambda tonight and update this thread. Thanks. Mark
