I enjoyed it Jacob. It is different and I like different. Your voice sounds great and the mix is good.
 
I too don't so much like the section at 2:28. I think I get some of what you were after, but it is so disruptive to a pleasant song. Maybe its just me. On the voice doubling, it can be cool, but your voice doesn't need it. I would think about using it for effect only when it makes sense to the overall song. You have a good voice.

Nice track and a great first attempt.
 
I do agree that it needs bass or even a bass synth. Something to fill up the bottom end.

Very interesting and original. Yeah it does sound a bit like Kid Rock but still very original. Kind of reminds of Aaron Lewis from Staind but again very original. Only thing I'd say which others have said is the acoustic guitar level is a bit high in some places. This blows my recordings out of the water that's for sure. Thanks for sharing.
