Female teachers accused of sex with students

  I didn't realize it was so spread wide..wide spread either.

 
  I don't  think this problem is very widespread when you consider all of the good honest teachers out there and the very small percentage who are not.

 Nationally we have thousands of teachers and  only a hand full have not been good. The press likes to amplify things sometimes in ways that are
unfair. If I were a teacher I would take some offense to the problem being considered "widespread". 

Where were these gals when I was a 15 year old??


Oh yea...teachin me readin, writin and rithmatic.  Sigh.

The story I see is about bikini pictures and doesn't mention anything that the thread title suggests. I would imagine that the images running through the mind of any teenage boy she was teaching would be much the same anyway.

Women teachers should be required to wear burka to keep this from happening.  And just to show that we are fair and even minded, men should also be required to wear burka (to show that we aren't sexist).  Once they are all in burka we can then outlaw women teachers and the liberals won't know to raise complaints!

I remember seeing my teacher - I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, come riding down my street on the back of a scooter behind a guy.  Blew my mind that teachers existed outside of school.  She even looked like she was having fun.  Imagine that.

Yes that was tabloid journalism to tie the two somewhat unrelated issues together.

We used to joke about "boy, where were these women when I went to school?"

But if I had a male underage child I would not want a female(or male) teacher wanting to have sex with him. No high fiving shouting thats my boy, way to go.

What would you do if that wa your son who was the victim?What would the mother of your son say?What if you were the SO of the teacher? How would you feel?

This is just a small symptom of the direction education in America is headed to.Even though I dont agree with BF Skinners philosophy, I imagine he is turning over in his grave.

I am NOT lumping all teachers into this observation, and not intending to broad brush.

Yes the article was Inquirer/Sun type , but its probably more pervasive that whats in the press.

Well..   I've actually been arrested in martin county, which makes me qualified to tell y'all that they are seriously small prick town, with a very political atmosphere.  They are completely corrupt.

And no..  I do not think women should be fired for modeling in bikinis.

 I was arrested for doing yoga, in the middle of the night, all alone on the beach, while smoking a joint.  A really tiny joint.  By the time the officer showed up, and I still do not know what he was doing on the beach at that hour, I had basically smoked the thing.  I didn't even have a joint...  I had a microscopic amount of ash in my fingers. 

I wound up with six months probation.

There are real criminals out there.  Pardon us artists who like to enjoy the ocean, in the middle of the night.  Yoga = certainly not the most violent behavior known to man.  I smoke pot, I've got medical problems.  Not ones I will share in depth on the site, but a very real, very serious nervous system related problem.  Medical marijuana is a real thing.  This country needs to wake up to that.
Edit = I'm not even sure if that officer wanted to arrest me though.  Honestly he kinda looked like, "he rolled up on the beach, caught me in dash cam, and had his hands kinda tied."
But I dunno how that all works...    Jail = not fun.  

I remember my bunky, he said to me, "whatcha in here for?"  I replied, "pot." He replied, "they booked me on battery."  I was like, "lovely." Seriously..   I did not talk to him much...

Yes it is swept under the rug OR doesnt get reported,. Just the classroom atmosphere  today, less discipline than when I attended school, and taught(yes I taught Industrial Arts).I won't broach the NEA=Communism thing
, thasts a whole nother thread.
 
Wow so you want me to pinpoint the "good old days" huh?If you are asking me for the sake of an argument I wont play that game. IF you really dont know, with your age and education to realize, then you are insular.
 
There was never a "perfect" age,because one can find something in our history that something can be made an issue of.Even with the post WWII baby boomer explosion, there were still faults.There was. in my humble opinion, better days, not weighing Medical advances and technology.
 
Yes I am offended by the actions of those teachers. You may see no fault in their actions, or thnk its "much ado about nothing".That is your right to abscribe to whatever the MQ philosophy is regarding said issues.
