File Location Check.

After a long PC build I am back to getting x3 installed and hoping I have got the file locations right. 
I have C drive SSD 120gb  OS + programs
          D drive HDD 1tb     Audio
          S drive SSD 120gb Samples
 
On my S drive I have a "cakewalk" folder which has approx 2.5gb of, I hope, samples stored from the x3 installation.

    I can't see the image I have posted or images on any post, any idea what's wrong?

    Images must be posted as links to image servers. You need a few more posts to be allowed to add links to your posts. At any rate, the layout looks OK unless you are planning to use any third party synth with a large sample library. Then the 120GB SSD is going to be too small.

    Scook, I wont be using 3rd party synths, maybe a better Virtual Drum later.
    I suppose I'll have to write the locations manually  into my post if I can't post a pictures link, geeez.

    1. You only need a couple more posts befre you can post links. I think it's 25/26 posts
    2. If you ever get something like BFD2, you will run out of sample space PDQ on your 120Gb SSD

    I have Projects, Audio, and Samples all on the same drive, which is a non-SSD regular 2 TB SATA 3 drive, and have no performance issues with Sonar, so you should be fine with however you split things up, as long as the OS and applications are on 1 and all the rest on one or more additional drivers.

    I thought bfd2 was 50gb,  I can use the 120gb elsewhere, I'll get a 250gb in now. Thanks.
    I did look for some posts to comment on but as a total newb to this I haven't found anything I can comment on.
    I just want to get back on track and start sing Sonar, the PC build took weeks to get my head round.

    The 250 is a much better idea. Yes, a full install of BFD starts at 50GB. But who stops with the factory drum sets? I only mentioned the 120 being small from my experience with Superior Drummer. I would also move the "Cakewalk Content" from the D drive. I ended up with it located on my Sample drive.

    Well I sure glad I keep my files on a separate drive. 
    Just went upstairs to do a little work and I got the " No boot disk" message. On close inspection found my C drives SATA connection is real loose. The little plastic tab seems broken. 
    So I'm just installing Windows on a extra drive I had on the shelf. 
    Well see how long it take to get back to work. 
     
    Anyhow you have a good plan , keep those project files safe!

    Thanks Cactus.   Scook you mean move ALL the "cakewalk content" files I currently have directed to  D    (HDD) to my S (SSD) samples drive?

    The only thing related to SONAR on my project drive are the projects and their associated audio. Everything else is on a different drive. My "Cakewalk Content" which weights in at ~9GB is on my sample drive.

    I think my entire BFD2/3 collections run to well over 200Gb. They should stop offering price reductions on their expansion packs
