Final Mix w/Lead "NOWHERE MAN" 3-22-13

I didn't realize that what I put up for Nowhere Man wasn't the final mix, with the lead guitar.  One of my friends said he liked it but missed the lead at the end.  I didn't notice so.... Anyway, here is the last mix with the lead.  I've been sick so I hadn't caught up with it.  I know many have already commented AND WE THANK YOU FOR THAT but I think it only fair to post the new mix because  Michael did a great job on the mix and the lead.  So if you choose to listen again, or haven't yet listened, we welcome your comments.

You chose a great song to cover and did a good job.  You stayed close to the original, but the texture of your voices made it your own.  Even the  easier Beatle's songs present a challenge, and you managed this well.

This made my ears smile, you caught the vibe of this song.

If I was going to make any comments it would be perhaps a tad more kick, but I would not make that type of comment.
Great cover guys thanks for sharing.

Just a thought, but a download of a cover (without a license) seems slightly "wrong".

Thank you all for the kudos.

I sure enjoyed working with Warren again and he sure made it easy to
handle all the files. I was honored he asked me.

LOL Robbie....no it wasn't left handed...but it was with my Geddy Lee and both hands..

Thanks Bat. The bass part was great fun and bass is just a challenge to me all the way around.

Here is link to the .wav file. It's suppose to stream only. I just don't care for Soundcloud...
    hope you don't mind Warren.

Note: This link is to updated mix to add a little kick...I value my friend Wookiee...and my arms!
also tweaked the leads just a smudge.

No problem, buddy!  I just forgot to check the one box on Soundclick.  That link is fixed too.  I guess I stay on Soundclick because I can't tell the diff between the sound of a .wav and an mp3.  Loud amps and army injuries have cursed my ears.  LOL

Ecellent stuff guys.  Teriffic vocals, harmonies, instrumentation and playing, and mixing.  What's not to like?  It brought back some memories.  How did you hit those high notes at the end??  I wish I could do that.

Lynn- Thanks a lot.  The Beatles make it sound simple but it never is and there's no way I could get Lennon's tone so I went for something close with phrasing, etc.  With Michael's music track it was pretty easy to get the spirit.

Wookie- Thanks, oh furry one!  I believe this new track had the kick upped a bit by Michael.  Thanks for the input.

    Mark- Thanks, Pard!

Ed- Thanks for listening.  Yes, the download option should have been deactivated.  I used the new shortcut to uploading and it didn't bring up the option, or I missed it.  All of our originals are downloadable but I never allow covers to be downloaded.  Of course, we only do 1 cover a year, usually and I take them off the site after they've had their run on CW Forum.  I'm liking this BOX format, though.

    Robby-  Thanks, I think?

Nice work guys! This is an incredible mix and a very faithful rendition that is both familiar and unique at the same time. Outstanding, and I almost NEVER say that about Beatles covers.

my main crit is the excessive compression on the lead guitar solo...  the attack clicks detracted a bit...

    McCue- Thanks for listening.

    Rob- Thanks, buddy.

Thanks to all the folks that that Michael replied to.

    Freddy-
Thanks, buddy.  You know I've been into a round of the flu since Christmas Eve.  From there to last week I couldn't really sing.  I did some tracks (28) and they were recorded wrong and weak.  It's nice to work with someone who will tell you if it could be better.  It seemed the flu was gone so saturday I recorded all the tracks again with the proper input settings.  The next day the flu came back with a vengeance and I'm still trying to shake it. ANYWAY, I could normally hit that part easily.  Well, it was a real chore to do it.  It sounded kinda poorly so I recorded what I called a beef track which was just that line which I hit from farter away from the mic.  Michael mixed it perfectly and voila!

    GPima- Thanks, man!

    markno- Thanks for listening.

Grant- Well thanks a bunch.  We appreciate it.  Michael mixed the vocals so that I even thought I sounded good!  As simple as the Beatles songs seem to be, they're not!  It was probably one of the toughest vocal songs I've done for awhile.  I had to use oohs in place of aahs because with my sore throat aahs came out harsh.  Muchaels musical tracks are always so accurate and true to the song that it makes me feel good just to sing on them.  Thanks, again.
