Finally, a ProChannel delay!
Thanks for the gift Cake, this thing is great! It's definitely going to replace my current go-to Waves H-Delay in most cases (unless I need some kind of modulation). But can anyone tell me what the different modes are supposed to represent? I can hear subtle differences and I can hear that 6, 7, 8 are a ping pong delay, but wouldn't mind knowing how the others are defined.

Joo! I just installed it here too... I like it's sound and I'm downloading the docs as I type... I too hear the differences, but I'm not certain what they're actually doing... ProChannel is becoming more robust with every day... Thanks Cakewalk! Thanks Overloud! Keni

Ah the manual...actually it describes the modes quite well and even has diagrams to illustrate them.

I assume this is an X3 freebie? Is this the same delay that was included in the VKFX Suite bundle that I purchased a few months ago?

From Overlouds Documentation: Modes 1 through 5 are mono, with each delay panned to the center of the stereo field, whereas modes 6 through 8 are stereo. Mode 1 is a simple single delay, with mode 2 being identical, but half the time interval, and mode 5 also identical, but running at a quarter the time interval of mode 1. Mode 7 is the classic stereo ‘ping pong’ delay, and mode 8 is identical to mode 7, but running at half the time interval. Mode 6 ping pongs in stereo reverse of mode 8, but after ping ponging plays an extra delay panned to the centre of the stereo field. Modes 3 and 4 are syncopated

I don`t know why Sonar X3 don`t have personal FREE for ALL people ProChannel Delay - it is philosophical question. :) This is gift is good. I have FX Chain persets for moderm delay and if I need it for ProChannel I drag it. In this pic. you can see standart presets. In my studio I have other: Delay 1/8, Delay 1/16, Delay 1/4, Delay 1/8*, Delay 1/4T and other. I click and drag... and I don`t need to setup delay. This preset have all what I need. You can make it and make interesting Delay Presets whis Waw-waw filter and other FX. FX Chain - it is simple and FREE way to do it. :)

Yanno... I totally forgot we could drag regular non PC FX into the Prochannel. How the heck did I forget that? lol Edit: and a better question... how the heck do I DO that? I remember seeing the vids and threads about it when X2 came out but I don't remember running across anything in the first 800 pages of the manual (where I stopped reading... gotta get back to that) and it hardly ever gets brought up. hmm... Nevermind... it's an FX Chain thing. I thought for some reason it was a different module that only mapped to one effect. I just misunderstood them initially when watching the promos then when I learned about FX Chains I didn't realize it was the same thing.

Yeah Beep, I use the prochannel like a fx bin many times. I like the visual it gives me for routing orders along with the quick and easy mouse drag to change the routing. I find the fx bin still useful though, like when I want to copy an efx from one track to another. That exercise is easier for me using bins. The other, other, other things I like about it - it adds another placeholder to save efx and settings, very simuilar to efx chains, more like a big ole prochannel chain - that's nice for when I want to change a track template. I probably use prochannel presets way more than efx chains. -- The prochannel efx handling will dominate usage for me over the fx bin once they offer us the capability to save presets on individual modules!!! That upgrade has to be on the drawing board somewhere. I know I've put in feature requests... Cheers Edited to say Thanks Cake for the delay efx. I will enjoy it! :)

Hi, musicroom. Although I haven't used FX Chains much yet I really think they are an awesome idea. I'm not sure if other DAWs have anything similar but if not these things are BIG point in Sonar's favor. I gotta try something now... I'm not sure if the ProChannel FX Chains module knobs can be grouped across tracks but if they can it would really solve my TH2 problem. I need an easy way to control TH2 across MANY tracks simultaneously and the only way I could do it before was to make changes on one track then copy the sim over to the rest of the tracks. Not very good for mixing (because you can't hear the changes across all tracks in the mix) or workflow. BTW all that other weirdness got sorted out. All is cool now. Cheers. ;-)

Beep there must be a way to have one of the tracks send midi/automation to all the others so that when you manipulate that track, all tracks adjust to the changes.

Hmm... that would work however I don't really use a controller to mix with. The only controller that I have that has enough pots is my Oxygen 25 and I a) rarely hook it up unless I'm recording something and b) it's a little finicky about mapping to certain things. If I can't get what I want going internally though this idea will likely be put to use. Thanks muchly. ;-)

Maybe set a midi controller to all the parameters you want. Have the controller on it's own midi channel and the parameters set to receive on the same channel.

Maybe set up TH2 with FX chains in the PC with controls set to the parameters in TH2 you want to adjust and then group them together?

Yep, this is what I was mentioning earlier. If that works them I'm good to go. All I really need are controls over stuff like Gain, Drive, Varifire and some pedal controls. hmm... I wonder if the cab mic distance/position settings can be assigned to FX Chain parameters as well. That might be a little too weird though. Another piece of the puzzle will likely be those internal TH2 assignable controls. I'll be messing with this soon so all should become clearer. Frankly back when I was trying this stuff out before I really had no idea what I was doing. Should be easier now. Cheers. Edit: ...and sorry... this is all terribly off topic. :-/
