Finally did recording session with X1

I've had X1 since the day it was released but have avoid doing any recording sessions with it because of the many bugs.  I went back to 8.5.3 as I knew it worked OK.  I was doing a session today with 8.5.3 and had some problems of droputs that I never had before.  I tried a couple of things and nothing seemed to fix the intermittent dropouts.  I  decided to give X1 a try and to my surprise it all worked and I was able to finish the session (3 songs).   I still have a lot of work on the songs but the basic tracks are down - steel guitar, drum tracks, rhythm guitar and scratch vocal tracks.

I had some problems and even had an open incident with Cakewalk, that was fixed in X1b.  As I was OK with 8.5.3 I decided to wait and continue using 8.5.3.  I'm a long way from being confident with X1 but as these sessions are all basic "analog" instruments I'm going to stick with it.

But, I've got to figure out why I was getting dropouts in 8.5.3, I've never had that before.

I got X1 the first day. I did load it but I stayed in 8.5.3 because I operate a studio on a daily basis and already had clients booked. I decided to stay on 8.5.3 and just play around with X1 on some older projects just to get the feel of it.
After about two weeks of trial and error and learning the existing bugs in the program itself, I decided to take a chance on X1 for the first time in a real session. I have never turned back since. I am a bit put off by trying to find where they moved everything to, but other than that, it has been rock solid, never crashed once, and I found what changes were made were very intuitive.
I applaude Cake. Even though the road has been bumpy, I am more that happy with X1!
