    Five,
You're on the "bleeding edge" here.
In Sonar: Preferences>Audio>Driver Settings>ASIO Panel (its a button) doesn't work?
Obviously the Control Panel shortcut on the board isn't working...
What about the Windows "Control Panel", no FW1884 icon there?

How are your latency with Win8?

I could not get it below 1000us with it, so I had to get back to Win7
    (also got a FW1884)

Well I've not done any work yet. Listened to some songs I'm working on mixing so far so good. running 256 thus far. Should there be any issues I may jump back to 512. On the Motu & the 1884. Will keep you posted. I'm getting use to 8 a bit now that there's a work around. Will be perfectly content if I can get this next step of signing the drivers correct.

Oh, sorry - I was a bit too quick there :)
I meant DPC latency, please check with this tool:

    http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml
It will probably show about 1000us - which is normal since win8 is not compatible with it yet. If you have a stable 1000us it probably is fine.

Then you can check the latency with this tool:
    http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon
This shows the latency caused by which process, drivers and programs :)

For instance, my Nvidia driver and FW driver was causing too much latency for me (in Win8)
For you it could be completely different.
