Finally got through install... almost with a need to replace my NS10 speakers ;-)

Finalized installation of Project 5, profiled WDM drivers, was able to play a few of the content (sample content within the program), but when I tried to ran some of them (Taboo Style especially), I got a monster noise terrific enough that if I had had the volume just a bit higher, I would have busted my NS10s ! No joke !....

For another sample, it was the same : I then ran again PROFILE WDM in the audio section (I use a Dakota sound card). In PLAYBACK bit depth, I selected NORMAL as I was getting no sound at all when it setted automatically at 32 LSB (or MSB, I can't recall).

Any help in fine tuning my setup will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

This sounds like the similar thing I'm experiencing with my Echo Gina sound cards. I had similar sounds coming out when I tried to use the ASIO driver or the wave driver. The funny thing to me is that sometimes it would work using the MS sound mapper driver, which is an unacceptable driver to have to use in my opinion. If you find a solution, please post back.

Not sure I will get any reply here...

I will contact Frontier Design and let you know what they suggest, in any case it could be helpful to you as well.

Was this a loud blast of white noise? My Dakota doesn't like Asio with P5V2. WDM plays nicely. I'd also would like to hear what Frontier has to say.

<Additional info> My white noise blasts were in SONAR with P5V2 rewired in and recording in loop mode. About the second or third iteration, I get the noise.

anybody else concerned about the changes in Mod Bod's appearance since he started working in P5?

I got this with my ASIO drivers on my EMU sound card - but I was also running with a 5ms latency - when I drop back to 10 and even 20MS, the sound clears up because my CPU isn't having a heart attack keeping such a low latency with that many instances of Dimension. When you get this blast of noise, what percentage is your CPU at? If you're around 90%, you'll probably start getting popping and clipping - if you're above 90% I'd assume you'll get a blast of speaker agony.
