Finally upgraded my system. Thanks ADK

I received my new computer from ADK (see signature) a couple of days ago. I'm now running 64 bit Windows 7, upgrading from an Sonica Q6600 Windows XP system. I now have most of my software installed and activated, but, now have to run in 32 bit mode until my UAD 2 Duo will run in 64 bit mode. So far, Sonar X1 & X2 are running very well, however, I haven't had a chance to really get into it yet.

ADK has done an excellent job, including great customer service when answering all my questions. Thanks Scott & Dave!

I haven't been posting much the last year due to some health issues. All is well now, so I look forward to jumping in with my new system!

I second that.  I bought a desktop from ADK a few years ago when the i7 chip first came out, and I've never looked back.  May you have many years of excitement.

Thanks Lynn and Clintmartin! I'm sure I'll be very happy with it. I can't wait to really get into X2 and see how it performs for me.

I'm using my ADK laptop for live sound production and live recording.  Still have X1 on the laptop, but it has performed flawlessly.

Fun having a new machine isn't it. :-)

Curious, are you running in 32-bit because of the UAD's drivers or because you would have to bridge their plugins?

If you don't mind bridging the plugins they will work in 64-bit Windows/Sonar, although there have been reports of issues with the latest UAD drivers. If you really want to run in 64-bit you could alternatively install older UAD drivers until they figure it out. As long as you don't have any of the really new UAD plugins yet that would work fine.

I'm just being optimistic that UAD will have 64 bit by the end of the year. I have no concerns about working in 32 bit for a while longer. I don't really want to bridge my UAD - I can wait. But, thanks for being helpful. I appreciate it.

Bristol_Jonesey, this is true, especially when your computer knowledge is minimal, like mine!

I'ts a great time to buy such a professional tool. I do hope it helps you wherever you may take it.

I'm sure it will meet my current needs just fine. I do very few commercial projects these days, having sold my commercial studio in Montana several years ago. I just wanted to keep-up with the always advancing technology. My old Windows XP system was getting long in the tooth.
