Recording with the PODxt

Ok, here's the deal, for some months ago I bought the PODxt, I really like it, but I don't understand how i record with it...
I've tried many things, but I can't get it to record directly into the computer. I made it to work if i recorded thorugh a mic, but the sound is awful and low.

So can anyone help me?
And I mean record DIRECTLY into a program, so I can sync it with a video.

You take the output from your POD and put that into an input on your pc interface.
Make sure you have a signal on the track you want to record by pressing the "R" on the track.
If you can do it with a mic, you should be able to do the same with the direct out.

You'll have to replace the plastic knobs with maple ones to get it to sound good though.

Have you installed the PODxt audio drivers?
If you have they should be listed as inputs in Sound Forge. I've never used Sound Forge, but I know in Sonar when you open your Options>>Audio>>Driver menu, it will list all available I/O, and you can select which you want to use.

You plug your USB into your computer, open up Sonar, and there you go
you are already set to go,

i have been recording with mine since day one on Sonar, the Output is totaly
ajustable thats what the Output knob is for

Its best to Monitor everything through your PODXT that way there is 0% lag.

What version of Sonar do you use? I really need to know.

And does USB count as an output...?
(Does the output knob controll USB?)

Sonar 6.2, but it also worked with my Sonar 1.2, and sonar Guitar Tracks 4

The Channel Volume knob controls the output of the USB, the ouput controls
the volume of the monitor, and yes the USB can be the output, i monitor mine
    with headphones

Fair enough, mate but if you're still having problems after the lads' advice, I suggest you explain precisely what you've done so far, step by step. Have you tried any of the suggestions ?

Oh sorry... where are my manners ? Welcome to the forum !

you might need to install the ASIO drivers for your podxt to use the USB interface to record. get the "line6 monkey" program from line6 website and that will get you up and running. then run sonar or home studio or whatever you have and select the line6 podxt ASIO drivers as the input and output. you will have to run the wave profiler before you can use it but once you do that it will be ready to rock.

if you just want to record audio, you can plug the 1/4" out ( left or right, doesn't matter much usually ) into the 1/4" in of your audio device. ( use adapter if necessary obviously )
