Which Cakewalk Instrument do you recommend?

Hey folks,
I'm ready to expand my sound possibilities and purchase a Cakewalk Instrument, but can't decide which one to go with. Dimension Pro is sample-based so obviously apples to oranges compared to Z3ta and Rapture, but I was hoping to get your take on them. Are the worth the $? Anyone using Z3ta and Rapture, and if so, what are the advantages of each? I know that this information is "explained" on the product pages, but I would love to hear it in plain language from users before making a decision.

Thanks!

To help you better, we'd need to know

    - What music style you're into, or
    - What kind of sounds you're after

I'm working on a bunch of different projects these days. One is a singer/songwriter project using pretty stock acoustic "real" instrument sounds. Another project involves wind controllers (EWI) with an MPC and that's where sweet bass and lead sounds would come in handy. It looks like Dimension Pro has some of those as well so I wonder if that's my best option. In any case, the projects seem to be varied right now.

I would suggest Dimension Pro. Of the whole bunch it's the only one who brings many acoustic/real instruments out of the box. It also has a wavetable synthesis mode, which is suitable for EWI. I have crafted several patches using a WX5 myself.

    Yea,

it sounds like Dimension is your best fit. Though I must say I use Rapture on almost every track, but my stuff i synth based, not acoustic.

Are there any special adjustments that I need to make on the the default sound bank patches to optimize them for the EWI or is it good to go as is?

You can download demos of Rapture and Z3TA+. I currently have Dimpro and Z3TA+. Soon I plan to add rapture.

Dimpro give you more realistic sounds, whereas the others are more synth based. Based on your comments - I think Dimpro is the better choice for you.

I agree. Dpro is a most fine start. If I had to pair down my collection to one Dpro is what it would have to be. But they (cakewalk synths) are very addicting. And all the others have such great personalities. Each one will add that something extra to your palet. I'm glad I don't have to choose.
