Dimension Pro / Savihost

I just received and installed my copy of Dimension Pro. I'm using Savihost to host it and have to say I'm very satisfied with it. It loads fast and seems to work flawlessly.

Now all I have to do is start learning how to use Dimension Pro. I have feeling this is not going to be easy! However, it should be a lot of fun.

Just a quick question. Does anyone know of any reason I shouldn't go ahead and install the 1.2 update as well as the two expansion packs?

    Thx...

It is contraindicated for individuals under heart treatment. Expansion Packs are gonna speed your heart up

I just installed (copied) Savihost.exe to "F:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\" and renamed it to Dimension Pro.exe per the instructions. When I start it, it says:
"Dim Pro is not properly installed. Please reinstall is using you original CD". The GUI then comes up. Then an error message trying to load programs (no sound).

    DimPro works fine within Sonar

How did you get Savihost to work?

SAVIHost.exe needs to be copied to the same location as the VSTi dll and renamed the same as the VSTi dll except with exe as the extension. Did you really install the VSTi version of DimPro in "F:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\" ?

I do have multiple Dimension Pro.dll files (for some reason)

The other paths are F:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Dimension Pro
    and F:\Program Files\Vstplugins\Dimension Pro

Copying and renaming Savihost in those directory gives the error: "Error loading F:/<<path>>\Dimension Pro.dll. Please make sure you rename SAVihost.exe..." then no GUI

That is not good. Sounds like a botched installation. You might want to uninstall DimPro and make sure that both VSTi directories are deleted, then reinstall. There might be a faster recovery process but I am not at my DAW right now.

    Got it.
My dual boot is causing the problem.
When I boot for normal stuff (MS Office, internet, etc.) Sonar is on the F: drive (I don't use it)
When I boot up for Sonar, Sonar is on the E:\ drive. Don't ask me why... a DAW company set it up that way for me.

Savihost works fine when I boot up under that second option. However since I'm already there, I may as well run DimPro under sonar. I kinda wanted access to DimPro without having to reboot.

I wonder if you could create links in the normal boot environment to make it work?
