New problem report form

Hi everyone,

Many of you asked for a more efficient way to communicate with Cakewalk regarding problems you may encounter. Technical support is still the best and quickest mechanism to resolve issues, since many problems can be resolved by configuration changes. Occasionally a defect may be found that cannot be resolved by a configuration change. In such scenarios we need a clear and concise description of the problem to enable us to reproduce this problem, so that the development team can investigate it. To help streamline this process we have created a new problem reporting form:http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/ProblemReporter/

The form guides you through the process of collecting the information to reproduce the issue and follows the same guidelines that we use in our internal tracking system. All issues submitted through this form will be reviewed and if found to be accurate, will be entered into our internal tracking system. Issues submitted will be assigned a tracking number, and you will be redirected to a page to upload any data necessary for the problem repro, if relevent. You may use the tracking number for future correspondence with support.

Some notes:
- This form should only be used to report issues that are confirmed to be unresolvable. i.e. don't post simple configuration problems here.
- You will only receive a response confirming the submission. Beyond that, Cakewalk will only contact you if further information is required regarding the issue.
- You cannot view submitted issues - all submitted issues are recorded internally only.

Thank you all for your feedback. We are committed to bringing you the highest quality software and this is another step towards making communications easier.

Why wasn't I not surprised you were the first to find a problem with the problem reporter?

Our website is undergoing some maintenance - it will be linked when the next batch of updates are done. I just wanted to post the link so people could begin using it.

How does one know if it is a simple configuration problem or that there is confirmation that the problem is unresolvable?

Thanks Noel! I reckon it's a sign of reaching a new plateau when you also have to upgrade your support processes.

it would be great to have PC, OS and other technical info pre-filled after logging in to the CW store account. why are we forced to fill in the same info every time we want to report a bug?....

Not sure how this post got resurrected as it's from April of 2007, but I've noticed threads that were in different forums are in here. I reme remember reading this thread "Elite Packs - AAS Strum Bundle" in the software forum last week, and saw it here yesterday......Vuja De
