Awesome! I'm adding the links I don't already have to my list of home recording favorites. Thank you! btw, I just love the EQ Primer. It's a great starting point and quick reference guide for an amateur producer like myself.

Yes... good stuff. Reminds me of some of the good articles that were once available on a site called "Studio Covers". Does anyone know what happened to that site? cAPS

I think this needs to be bumped for some of the newbie questions regarding EQ.

Thanks Chaz! Two of the places I struggle are EQ and the function of panning. And I'm sure as I go deeper into this I will find more places. It is nice to have members like you who take an interest in sharing their knowledge and bringing the rest of us along. I printed everything. Just from what I read the light really went on brightly. Even the order you listed them was helpful. I can't wait to try the exciting compressor trick with my vocals Phil

No problem guys. Just take what you learn and experiment, experiment, experiment. And remember, that it will be a combination of everything that makes for a great mix!

does this stuff work or what? awesome, many thanks. the eq suggestions pertaining to individual intruments really helps to clean up the mix. especially bass vs. kick.
