Piano Sampler/Softsynth

Hi there -
I've tried all the softsynth pianos that come with sonar 6 PE and am not really satisfied with the realism of any of them. Can someone recommend the best softsynth/sampler for piano that's on the market? Thanks

The new quantum leap pianos from east west would be a good choice. They also have the regular Steinway D and Bosendorfer libraries which are very nice and less expensive. www.soundsonline.com

You just opened up a car of Worms

I downloaded both Pianoteq's demo and True Pianos Demo. I like them both. I'm amazed at Pianoteq because it is 100% modeled piano, not sampled.
True Pianos is a hybrid both sampled and part modeled. I'm waiting to see what True Piano comes up with for their latest update before I make my final decision.
I'm leaning toward True Pianos because it is half the price of Pianoteqs, but I really do like Pianoteqs too

    http://www.truepianos.com/ Truepiano website

Right now I'm using GPO steinway and Dimension Pro Pianos which I think are pretty good.
Also check out Synthology Ivory or NI accoustic Piano.

Steinberg's The Grand 2 or Native Instrument's Akoustik Piano.

I've been using The Grand 2 for awhile now and am impressed with how much you can manipulate the sound. Check out their website for demo's.

Like a previous contributor I am currently trying Pianoteq and Truepianos demo versions. I really like the both and have yet to make a choice. Pianoteq has a slight advantage for use in standalone mode with recording/playback/save & load midi/metronome/export to wave, mp3 – but it costs more. I may just prefer the sound and feel of Truepianos but that can change from day to day!!

As for the rest it seems to me to depend on what you're prepared to spend, ease of use, format, impact on PC's resources, etc. I'm not really interested in a DVD/CD boxed package and some of these products are huge.

I prefer a downloadable option and for the two above it’s an easy process. I’ve found tech support very fast and helpful in both cases. Pianoteq has this week released an updated version to resolve a few issues.
