Mic Setup Question!!!

Warning!!! The following question may sound completly stupid, but I have to ask anyway!

I'm thinking about incorporating my wretched voice into some of my future recordings! I have no idea how to set up the mic to my soundcard :( I have two independant mic inputs, both with Phantom Power on my Lexicon Lambda (I love my Lmbda-sorry, off track I know!), but I is this the kind of thing where I have to use the onboard mixer from windows to monitor the inputing signal (Sigma Tel Audio)? I just have no idea what goes where, and how to set it all up. I've never recorded vocals before, and I guess I just need some help.

Thanks guys, and have a great day :)

    Hi Bryant.
but I is this the kind of thing where I have to use the onboard mixer from windows to monitor the inputing signal (Sigma Tel Audio)?
This part I don't understand. why do you need to monitor thru the sigma tell? I wouldn't even have the sigma tel enabled anymore! monitor thru the lambda! the lexicon has a headphone output on the front and even a mixer for your output levels.

for the mic, simply plug it into the MIC1 or MIC2 XLR input in the rear and then just choose those inputs on your AUDIO track. You can adjust the amount of input going into the computer from the MIC1 or MIC2 knobson the front of the lambda. It should actually be a very straight-forward process and fairly simple to do.

let us know if you have more questions or if I didn't explain something enough!

Great Beegle! Nah, I think you pretty much nailed the head on the 2 x 4! Soon you'll be hearing voice. I'll have to hide behind a canopy of reverb and chorus effects though. Unless you want to hear a 26 year old version of Bob Dylanm with a sprinkle of Tom Petty?
