Move recored tract down 4 measures

I have recorded a tract that I want to start 4 measure later then when I started it.
Is there a way to move it or just insert some dead air space so it starts later?
thanks

    libirm,
Do you have more than one clip in the track? If so, highlight the track(click on the track #) and bounce to clip. Then you can move the whole thing as one. Be careful, since now you may have some clips aligned where you want them, and some not.
If you have moved only a clip, put it back, then bounce.

If it's MIDI, you can click 'insert>measures' at the top and enter the number of measures you want to insert. Theoretically, that would move all the clips the same amount. I don't know if it works for audio, I've never tried that.

At work. so I can't go into m/c right now, but from memory...there should be "fade" pulldowns at the top of the track list...you can adjust from linear to gradual fades there. At the end (or beginning) of your track, in the wave form window, place your cursor at the top of the clip, a triangle should appear...drag this triangle back (or forward), a greyed out area should appear, showing where the fade is being applied...if you can, try this, and should you have trouble, I will try to follow up this evening when I get home.

The explanation is a little involved, not difficult, but a lot of words...you will right click on the clip, pick split, copy, move, paste, stuff like that. I'll get back to you after work if no one else picks up on this

    Thanks RObo
I found it ans will try it later.

    Question:
I has a friend suggest that there were some volume issues with the mix. Is therea way to automate a level control? Or do you do each tract manually?

    thaks again for the help!

Setting the volume per track in the mix down stage is simple enough if you want the volume of a certain track/instrument to stay the same from end to end, but if you need to adjust the volume through a track, maybe it starts lower, raises in the middle, fades down a little, etc. the best tool is the volume envelopes. They are not automatic, but once you work through it once or twice, you will get the idea about setting nodes, adjusting volumes in between the node points, etc. Depending on the desired result, you can get very involved in the envelope process, or a simple adjustment at some place within the track might be all you need, but volume and pan envelopes can be a very powerfull tool when used correctly.
I suppose you are noticing this program can be as simple or as complicated as your specific needs dictate, but as with everything else, the payoff for your efforts can be rewarding.
