:Light In The Sky" a Steve Hillage Cover

...here is a cover of a song by Steve HIllage, one of my all time fav guitarist....He played in a band called Gong before going solo in the 70's, annyyyways, this song is from the Motivation Radio album, which was recently re-released/remastered and kinda gave me the bug to try my own twisted version of it....This is the 1st mixdown...I will be adding some more special effects to the end I think...just wondering how its sounding so far...

Hey, I loved that Album! "Hello Dawn" and the title track were my favs. It's odd for me because that record was kind of a forerunner to new wave music which I hated.

Cool job with the tune Pedro. Don't know what else to say.

PS, didn't Hillage play in the band Egg too? I seem to remember him being in that band along with Dave Stewart (who later played keys for Bruford's fusion group). I never had any Egg records because I could never find them back then. I probably could now with the internet and all. The only Gong albums I had were those two "Expresso" records that Holdsworth played on.

Love it V-Man! Real authentic sound on this. Great guitar tones and playing, rowdy stuff!

Yes he did, and Dave Stewart went on to play in one of my favourite bands 'Hatfield and The North' (named after a motorway sign in the UK)

Thanks James! Glad ya dug it!!
I have a album by a band called Kahn that featured both Hillage and Stewart called "Space Shanty"....pretty cosmic stuff from right before Hillage joined Gong...the remasters of Hillages solo albums are really nice with lots of bonus tracks and great sound as compared to the original cd releases....

Very out-of-the norm tune. Never heard the group, but I like the song. Sounded darn good to me.

Guitars sound great but the vox seem so distant in the mix? Maybe it is just me?

    Cool remake though!
