New song(Not Amazing G!!!)

I re-did one of my songs (sorry I didn't redo Amazing Grace!!!!!!!!!! It's so bad that everyone is writing amazing g). I did it with DFH (instead of FL5) in Sonar and added a couple small parts but I guess you won't notice unless you heard the 1st version. It's a heavier song, I promise to do a lighter one next time (because I already started recording it, but I needed a break to think), so I'll appreciate feedback from anyone who likes this style.

Whoops.... it's called Myopia

Hi ya....great tune you have here, with a really good arangement the bottom end sounded really nice and powerfull,i would of liked the vocals a lil more up front tho,i use to use fruity loops for my drums untill i discovered ezdrummer f-loops use to crash my sonar 5 all the time, glad i got rid lol

the vocals sounded a lil like system of a down in places which sounds awesome for your song cool song really liked

Thanks undadogz. I have heard that before from some friends that they want the vocals up front more! The funny thing is, I turned it up a little on this 2nd version. Well I need to tweak some other things again (the velocity fell off a couple of the kicks?!?! and the 3rd verse I just added is kinda sloppy...I had some wine last night, ha ha) anyways ,so I might as well do that too. I like ezd a lot better than fl5 that I used originally.
And System of a Down?!?! I haven't heard that before, but thanks.

Hey, way to alienate yourself dude.
Cool track, sounds nice and beefy, nicely performed too. Always an original twist to your work.

Well I meant to say It's so bad that they have shorthand for it now, amazing g. Not trying to alienate myself from anyone, but I definately don't want to jump on any bandwagons like that. To each his own.
    Thanks also.

Good job Z, monster sound you have here......could be a distant relation to Metallica's 'King Nothing' . Bone crunching stuff.

    Myopia....
I have never heard such whiny vocals since Randy and the Riproen band!
The instrumental parts are OK and pretty stable, but due your self a huge favor and either take some voice lessons or keep you mouth shut.....

(Vocals really are the toughest part of any song though.)

zeypxun, I don't have anything to even suggest to change. I thougt it was all great.....including the vocals. I think the vocals went with the tune perfectly. Very good stuff......and it ain't even close to my genre.........but, hey, I was a rocker back in my day!!! Don't ask when "my day" was!! Very good work, PRESS ON!!!!!!

yeah zeypxun, there is still room to bring those vocals forward a bit. I'm likin' it.
btw, Equus is coming along nicely, too. Had to listen to it twice.

jamesg1213; Thanks. Though I used to love Metallica up until Justice For All, I've never listened to 'King Nothing'. But I'm sure it's pretty obvious they were a huge influence on me, especially in this one.

lhansen; Yes I did! Thanks I'm glad you liked it.

gonzo_dog; Thanks again! I gotta check out your song after this.

pistolpete; Do us all a favor and learn some grammar. Then we might understand you better. The word "Do", as in the verb "engage", would be the correct word to use, not "due" which would be a noun the way you erroneously used it. You also told me to "Keep you mouth shut", well I think it would be you that needs to keep his mouth shut for several obvious reasons. 1: You've never even posted a song. 2: You are a waste of bandwidth. 3: You always complain and whine. 4: You create confrontations behind your little computer with people who have tried helping you and with complete strangers. 5: You should use the possesive pronoun "your" when telling someone to keep their mouth shut, not the subjective pronoun "you" which only a moron such as yourself would use incorrectly. I also totally disagree that the vocals are the toughest part of any song, especially in instrumentals, but ultimately it depends on the song.

rsp@odyssey.net; I totally agree, but you will always have some guy that thinks it's nifty getting on others nerves. We all know he's a true moron.

DuRod; When was your day? ha ha, thanks for the kind words.

RobertB; Yeah I hear a couple parts that I should turn up a little, I also think maybe I turned the harmony up too much in the end?!?! I don't know. I get in there and there's so much going on I forget some things! But I'm glad you liked it.

    zeypxun,

I'll throw in with everyone else: this is a great, original song. I agree that the vocals have to come up - maybe throw a really clean flange on there to eek out some extra clarity? I dunno, but it's definitely worth going back to and making perfect.

Great stuff! I really enjoyed this. I think the key to any style of music is getting a groove going and you've accomplished this. I love the dynamics, the influence of punk, metal, industrial, and of course, Helmet. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Z - there's a lot of energies in this song, no doubt. Solid guitar work, good mix. Not my genre though, but one sure notices your skills! The BGVs are superb (they caught me off guard - while listening through headphones, I suddenly thought someone was behind me ... ).
    Cool.

Thanks again for the feedback guys. I turned the vocals up a little and... well... it's kinda like me going to the grocery store for only bread and eggs, I end up coming home with $30 worth of groceries!! So I tweaked a bunch of other things while I was in there and got lost with all the things I did. I remember fixing the drum velocity at the end and I re-did some backround vocals where I realised I said the wrong words. ha ha, oops. I uploaded it to unsigned.com only because it's not that big of a difference to me when it's 112kbps on myspace.

Anyways I've never listened to Helmet so I don't think I was influenced by them, and airmeki, I laughed when I read your comment about you thinking someone was behind you.
