Having to reset MIDI options and Control Surface

I turn my machine on wait until its all booted, double click P5 and ............Doh!! - i forgot to turn on my audio/midi interface. ARRG! - close P5, turn on Inferface, go to options reset all my MIDI input/output preferences, go to control surfaces - re-assign the control surface.

I dont know how many times this has happened to me - its the same in SONAR. I know its Terminal User Error, but is there no way that P5 and SONAR can remember these options and just give me an "oi you pratt, you have not turned on your interface!!!!" message?

Just venting...........

    Solution that worked for me:

Place power strip in good location. Put other gear in "on" position. Use power strip as master on/off.

    1.) Turn on power strip

    2.) Boot up PC

    Do reverse order for shutdown.

DDF, sounds like a good idea, but for me no good. I run though USB only for my controler, though the front usb port on my PC. When not doing music, I unplug everything, put my USB cable inside this guy's skull, and move the keyboard and stand to the side. Regardless though, I dont think this is a Cakewalk thing, because if I forget to plug in before I open FL, it wont pic it up if I plug it in while it's running either.

Ognis, man you got a weird hookup. Ok, maybe it's just the skull part but I can see how it won't work in your case.
