Dimension Pro new user ?

I use Music Creator Pro to do MIDI only composing, (no audio recording yet.) I have been using the EDI Roland VSC and Dreamstation included with MC, and the free Triangle II software synthesizers. I have gotten pretty far with those, but I wanted more.

I bought Dimension Pro and am pretty happy with it. It is going to take a while to explore all of the possibilities, especially how to use the guitar samples! I really like all of the lush pads.

1. Has anyone documented the programs/elements/etc. with their names and a brief description of what they sound like? (I did a screen shot of most of the selections and have made notes but could use something better.)

2. Now that I have a "critically acclaimed" software synthesizer (as they call it) as a reference, can anyone tell me what Rapture would give me that Dim. Pro does not have?

    HI,
RAPTURE HAS A STEP GENERATOR, SO YOU CAN BUILD EVOLVING SOUNDS!!!
DIM PRO HAS 4 ELEMENTS, RAPTURE HAS 6.
I'M NEW TO ALL THIS, AS I BOUGHT BOTH SYNTHS RECENTLY. I BOUGHT A GREAT BOOK CALLED "CAKEWALK SYNTHESIZERS" BY SIMON CANN. BUY IT, IT WILL TEACH YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!!!
    GOOD LUCK,

That book is close to a bible not only for cake synths. But over all it is the source.

Did you also download the free expansion packs for DimPro ?

IMHO learn DimPro real real well, then get Rapture.

Yes, and there is a lot of neat stuff in them I like.

    >IMHO learn DimPro real real well, then get Rapture.

I was wanting to know what Rapture has that Dim Pro does not.

So far, from Franco3x I got:
RAPTURE HAS A STEP GENERATOR, SO YOU CAN BUILD EVOLVING SOUNDS!!!
DIM PRO HAS 4 ELEMENTS, RAPTURE HAS 6.

I understand the elements, but DimPro has evolving sounds so I didn't understand that.

Is there anything else you can add?

Thank you, Tom! That answered both questions rather well. It looks like I made the best choice for me, for now, in Dim Pro. Like I said, it is going to take me a while to learn all about it.
