Audio Interface with good x64 Drivers?

Is there an audio interface with good Windows XP x64 Drivers? I've tried a delta1010lt and an emu 0404, both had tons of problems. Should I suck it up and go RME? I would get a Lynx, but they don't have MIDI on their cards as far as I can tell.

echo audiofire has full x64 support, they're firewire, my version 4.0.0 x86 drivers are very very stable, range from audiofire2 with 2 analogue in/out plus digital in/out and midi in/out, to audiofire4 has, erm 4in/out plus mic preamps, to 8 to 12...pretty good converters too, and if 2in/out is enough, my audiofire2 cost only £115/$220....

Lynx here. Get a USB midi interface (cheap) if you also need midi. Works for me.

    Gear: A bunch of stuff.

    Thanks for the replies!

I couldn't get any lower than 8ms round-trip latency through the Emu 0404.

I create an audio track that's connected to a mic, and load up a VC-64 with both compressors and EQ's, the noise gate, active. I use the echo-on (software monitoring), not hardware monitoring, to get the VC-64 between input and output. Having low latency is crucial here for the singer. The Delta 1010lt gets 1.41ms round-trip latency with the VC-64 in line, which is great. It sounds like singing through hardware. With the Emu 0404 it needed at least 8ms of latency which was too much.

(I used the Latency Test Utility from CEntrace to measure these.)

I'm interested in what kind of latency people get with the Lynx, RME, Echo, etc.?

I regularly get 5.8ms 256 buffers using ASIO on the Lynx. I can go lower for tracking but after 5-6 tracks things go wierd. 2.5ms latency on the first couple of tracks also works.

on 5.3msec (256) with the audiofire2, asio, not bad for vista

Im just wondering when are things going to start improving with the drivers to get a lower latency with vista. Im on 32bit vista and the best i can get is 4.9 in both driver modes. Thats fine for most of the stuff i do, but i know with XP i was getting loer than 2ms with the same gear and same settings. I guess its up to your soundcard manufacturer to do this, but how long does it take. Vista has been out for almost a year, give or take, and they new about vista for who knows how long????? Im not complaining, I get by. Im just wondering sinse this is my first windows upgrade and ive only been using DAW for about a year. Before that i was recording to a fostex and a zoom hard disk. So, im just wondering when things will improve..

cj, as i know you know the physical limit on vista at mo is around 5msecs due to driver architecture. hopefully sp1 will help not holding breath

i think it has more to do with the vista kernel just not supporting proper prioritization of the audio drivers, than the drivers themselves.

depending on your budget and perferred interface type, RME is very well known for low latency devices. some of their older hdsp 9632 PCI cards can be had for quite cheap, and can be paired with pretty much any converter you care to use. their firewire line is a fair bit more than the interfaces you have tried so far, so they might be out of your price range. still worth drooling over a little bit though.
