Sound Card help

I recently got a new computer, HP 1547 Media center. Now my GT2.0 is adding old tracks to my new tracks...kinda like acoustic feedback, but it's not...it is internal somehow????
Is GT2.0 just too old for this new world.
Is sound card situation on this new computer causing the problem?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Right click on the little loudspeaker icon bottom right of your desktop, open up 'volume controls' -'options'- 'properties'- 'recording', make sure ONLY the input source that you're using is checked i.e. 'line in' or 'mic'. If anything else is checked, like 'stereo mix' or 'wav' it will loop your computers sounds back into your soundcard while your recording, so un-check it.

    Hello scubarojo and welcome

James' advice, as always, is spot on - I'd also recommend that you open the 'Options' list on the volume control panel, select 'Properties' and then tick the boxes of all the various volume controls that are hidden [ie do not appear on the volume control panel unless selected - eg 'Aux, SW Synth, Aux] to add them to the panel. Now you can make sure the 'Mute' box is checked on all of them before you deselect again.

By the way, I still use my GT2 occasionally but I do find it very limiting with drum loops, as it doesn't support ACIDized samples as GTPro 2 and 3 do.

    Good luck

    Steve

PS - I've found a pretty comprehensive list of your Realtek's specifications at their website, just click on this link: REALTEC ALC883

I can't believe how many people have the "what you hear" problem. They should make that a sticky topic or one of the ones at the top.

Glad to hear you're back up and running scubarojo - I notice RobertB has recently posted a step by step guide working graphically through just this kind of difficulty at: RECORDING PREVIOUS TRACKS

As he says, it's one of those annoying little problems that seems to pop up on a regular basis - a bit like old Petey!

    Best wishes

    Steve
