Nice track, the sounds build nicely, and the break is cool. I think you should do a mix where the only percussion is the more staticy percussion (the percussion the comes in first) and the heavy drums are pulled out. I think that would be an interesting challenge, keeping the other parts more or less the same. Just an idea.

Edit: Hmmm, maybe those drums could come in after the arp towards the end, where they anchor that element. Anyway, really thoughtful piece. I enjoyed listening. Thanks.

Impressive track, I would leave out some of that sonar type sound to the right to break things up a bit though. Or if you could delay it towards the left might be interesting.

I was just saying to myself yesterday... where's blipp?? And here you are.

Interesting beat for you... lots of energy in this one, I like it. Great bassline. Well mixed as always. Ooh the arps at 4:24.... niiice.

You are just a master of this genre. I don't even really know what the genre is, but you've mastered it. I need to download all your mp3s onto the new computer.

Wow....this is some really good stuff.I can always tell your beats, they have a distinct touch to them and like usual I have to point out that sic percussion....it makes me envious. It is great to have the blipp factor back, hope you stick around for a while this time

I especially like the deep sub bass patch! NOYCE! The honkytonk piano sounds great the way you've placed it in the mix too!

Perhaps you put too much pressure on yourself? That happened to me before when I tried to be too much like a style and worried what others may think. Now I just make music for the love and it's really been working out great. Maybe your situation is different. And it is good to recharge those creative batteries from time to time.

re the tune: I really liked it. During the middle I started to drift off in attention. It felt like it needed a change sooner. Maybe bring that arp around 4:27 in sooner? And there is this phasey synth going on pretty much through out that started making me dizzy after a while. Maybe cut that out from time to time. These are just some thoughts.
I really enjoyed the tune very much on a lot of levels.

Thanks for the kind words folks. I did almost come to a point where i was gonna give up making music completely because i felt i'd said all i could and it was getting harder and harder to come up with anything original. If i'm honest i'd have to say that i'm still in a take it or leave it mode about making music and i'm probably not as enthusiastic as i used to be. This track came together pretty quickly, almost accidently in fact. The mix did come out rather well, but it was'nt really due to any magic i put in. Just one of those fortunate accidents really. I wish i could do it every time. I did'nt use any compression on the main drums and i probably hav'nt done that since i first got p5. They just sounded better without so i stuck with it. The drums were from the Roland Groove Synth. A much underated synth for drum sounds i reckon.

Anyway, enough of the waffle. Cheers again guys.

Excellent work John, once again. I loved the composition , the mix was a little reverby (a touch) to my ears. Other than that I cant find too much fault with it. I loved the sounds you got going on during it.

I found the actual track itself to be one of your most engaging tracks. It got me listening from start to finish with apparently no effort at all. Unlike Modulation the change at 4:28 was timed well if you ask me.

It also had your signature style written all over it, while still taking your music on different direction from many of your previous works.

Glad to have you back John.

This is really great stuff. Like Agincourt, I'm not sure of the subgenre, but you 've got it nailed.
I really like the way it is pieced together. The arp at 4:27 really changes everything around.

serious piece of work Blipp, really enjoyed it.

Listened to it just after david's song, they're very good for some late night music.

congratz, not much to say, didn't listen very carefully, I listened while reading threads here and there, and I didn't really focus, nothing stood out as being particularly odd, just very good music.

    nice one

Good track, thanks for sharing, Mr. Universal Serial Bus. I, for one, understand the ebb and flow of music-making desire, lol. Writing, recording, mixing, mastering etc. etc. a song can be very tedious work. Yes, it's work. Sure there are brief moments when a track is coming together when something you've put together gives you a buzz, but when you've listened to a track for the umpteenth time while retweaking this or that trying to get it acceptable, if not perfect, there comes a point when you'd rather listen to forks in a blender than the damn track one more time. Did I mention that I just yesterday finished mastering a new album? lol. I often think maybe I'd be better off just being a video game addict than a basement musician. It's lonely down here. But then I look back on my life, and I realize that all the video games (insert other hobby that produces nothing here) I've played are just a diminishing blipp (sic) in my memory now, largely forgotten, while the music I've made, though the result of blood, sweat, and swearing, still exists; like pets I don't have to feed, giving me and others enjoyment from time to time. I've had a little success, selling 1000 downloads this past year (mostly ITunes) with zero promotion on my part, but when you get no feedback from people enjoying your music it can be hard to find the will to fire up the sequencer, bash out a beat, and get your party of one started. But hey, it's your thread, and your life, so do whatever makes you happy :). More about me when I post up a couple of tracks I did in P5 recently to finish up the album.

wow! i like this tune alot its very powerful. i think the bell sound makes it that way. i like to use bell sounds myself for the same reason. this has an early depeche mode sound. you could be at the rose bowl!

will you please listen to my tune?

The genre is likely "Experimental Electronica."

There is too little energy and variety to my liking, but it's solidly made for sure.

Blipp, I think all of us go through the periods of not wanting to make music. Since it's a hobby, we should do it when we feel like it, IMHO, and not put too much pressure on ourselves. Nothing terrible would happen if we would take a 1-2-12 month break and enjoy photohraphy, or gardening :)
