newbie

I newbie here, I used to work with the old cakewalk version, I got the music creator 3, and even I have sound on my keyboard thru the midi connections, when I look for the instruments list I do not see them.
Something I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance..

    Laredo,
Welcome. I suspect a basic misunderstanding of how MIDI works.
Give us more details of what you are doing. The problem can probably be easily sorted out, and we may have more questions for you, but we will need some information about your particular scenario. Tell us anything you can, even if it seems unimportant.

Robert, thanks for your reply, my computer crash on me but I'm up and running again, finally I got the sounds that I wanted and starting in my new proyect, my next question is: Can I use my keyboard (Radio shack MD-1700) to record the drums instead of using the piano roll.

    2.80 ghz for proccessor
    sigma tel audio (sound card)
I have my keyboard hook up to my computer thru the midi cables(M-Audio 1)

    Thanks in advance

Glad to see you are up and running again.
You should be able to use the keyboard just fine. My introduction to MIDI was with a Radio Shack keyboard going through a MIDI/joystick adapter on a SoundblasterLive card. It is fun, and you don't have to worry about humanizing your track.
One problem you may have is with the latency of the Sigma Tel throwing you off. With a better, low latency sound card playing drums is a blast, and my daughter gets a kick out of watching me do Aynsly Dunbar impressions at my keyboard.
Does MC3 recognize your keyboard now? For any instrument sounds?
Are you using a soft synth(ie Edirol VSC) for your drum sounds, or the Microsoft Wavetable synth?
Do you know how to select the MIDI channel that the keyboard is transmitting on?
The answer to these questions will help me get a feel for where we are starting from.

Robert, I agree with you with the drums sound not going at same speed when I hit my keyboard keys, yes MC3 it does recognize my keyboard since I can use it to hear my proyect as well can hear the instruments, also I'm using the Edirol synth for the sounds and using channel 10 for the drums.
I hope this is the correct way to set up the channel.
