NO SOUND... HELP PLEASE
A recent problem has started. If i play music files on my PC through say windows media player. The next time I go to use Music creator 3 everything seems to work but I get no sound. I get sound from everything else but not from mc3. In order to get sound I have had to carry out a restore to the last point it worked. Does anyone have an answer for this please. Thanks Ron

The OS is XP but it has worked for two years before it started playing up. So it shouldnt be the soundcard or the OS !

Possibly a recent update or a new program could have set the PC back to it's out-of-the-box defaults. Can you select the sound card you want, driver mode, etc. from the 'options>audio' screen? Do they reset when you run the wave profiler? Or is the only way you've found to get it to work is a restore? That seems like it would be a pain. Greg

I'm having a similar problem. This is my first time using MC4 (I actually have no recording experience at all), and I have never had a problem with the sound on my Dell Latitude D600. When I installed MC4, a window popped up saying that my Sigma Tel Audio was not supported. I have gone through the tutorials, and I still cannot hear anything. What should I be using?

If the on board sound card is not supported, and actually even if it was supported, you should be looking into a better quality sound card. Check other threads for advice on cards in this forum. Later Albert

I have a SigmaTel audio card as well and am using MC4. To get the sounds to work, I went to Audio Options, Advanced, changed the Driver Mode to MME (32-Bit). When you make this change, you are warned to exit MC4 and start again.

JosieGirl Yea,, try this go to 'Options' and then 'Audio' and then 'Advanced' tab... change driver mode, close and re-open MC. Go back to 'Audio' and 'Options' and this time the 'General' Tab-run the wave profiler, and reboot. That should get you going. Also be sure to check 'Audio' 'Midi Devices' to be sure that the MIDI mapper is NOT the choice in outputs. Changing your drivers will likely take care of that, and give you the choice of GS WaveTable Synth- but check to be sure.... RE-Boot. That should (hopefully) get you sound. If not, try running the wave profiler again. HTH C/M
