Oud, Duduk, and Percussion piece

This a groove for oud and duduk. I was trying for a mideastern vibe. The structure is rather loose and seems like a jam, and the assorted percussion gets busy.

Grouduk

Check it out and let me know your take on it.

Marko, That was really nice. Kind of has that Tibetian Tribesman fell to or or maybe a slow Turkisk belly dancer theme, Regardless, this was really nice and was pretty well balanced. Sounded like finger cymbols going throughout and some pretty good instrumentation you chose for this. I liked it. Thanks for sharing and job well done. John

Very nice sounds Marko, is great that you're exploring Eastern stuff too. Must be something else with those different scales. Really well played, too.

Friends of mine had a track done by an Iranian composer, Pouyah Mahmoudi, who's one of those Iranian composers also making a fusion between their instruments and tuning and Western instruments and influences. Next time they come over I'll ask them to bring some more cd's like that, and if they bring *him* over I'll drag him into my studio for a week. Would be real nice to gig together I think

It's a bit of a sad piece, but very nice, has some great sounds as well (not the best of recordings alas), I've put it up in the media player on my website (under Other), in case you'd like to listen to that.

Intriguing piece, Marko. Is this QL RA? Very realistic performance. I enjoyed that.

    Thanks John.

    Thanks Roflcopter.

Thanks Ed. Yes. This is mostly with RA. The finger cymbals may be from another library.

    Thanks for listening.

Awesome. My favorite part about is how sparse it is. It gives it a great sense of realism and intimacy.

    Marko,
Great clarity in the instruments, excellent use of ambience and spatial cues. Very authentic space. Really like the expressiveness of the instruments. Totally sounds like a live group performance. Nice drums, I have been trying to do things like this lately but find I have much much to learn. Great job, very intriguing piece.

    Thanks Bill.

By the way, I added a little reverb from Kontakt (a preset with no tweaking or programming).I might have posted this without any added reverb at all since the samples themselves contain some.
