P5 2.5

Hi,

Not too long ago I got P5 2.5 with a download license. After a bit of fuss here and there I got the download but was informed on the web page where I downloaded the file that I needed P5 V2 already installed for the download to be installable. Fortunately the web page wasn't correct and all worked out until my laptop decided to stop working!

Currently I'm near my DAW so I thought I'd get a download to upgrade P5 V2 into 2.5. The old link provided in the email from Cake still worked and the installer downloaded fine onto a USB stick. However when I installed the software there was an error at 10-12% of the total install and it had to be aborted. Then I booted up P5 V2 or so I thought as the desktop icon was still white as apposed to green and checked the version number and it showed it to be V2.5 so it's obviously worked despite the install abort situation! - And all the old synths like Cyclone are still there. The download only version only has the 3 plugs included - though I'm not moaning.

Any thoughts on the above? - It does seem like a minefield. BTW, it would be nice to download the P5 2.5 again as I need another laptop PDQ! - But it seems hard to get to download anything without emails to tech support. If a constant link was provided Cake tech help wouldn't so many emnails from me and maybe others!!!

    Use old link provided in the email from Cake, download update again , reinstall project5 again

    i just had the same problem you did. i was having problems downloading the 2.51 update. email cakewalk (or call them) they will sort you out. 1800cakewalk

    I already have emailed them! - Just waiting for another response......These things take time...

    If my laptop hadn't packed up I'd have had access to the downloaded P5 2.5 but sadly it wasn't to be. Heh though the 2.5 download, corrupted or not has turned the boxed version 2 (that was already installed) into version 2.5, even the startup screen is green! just before going into the main program window.

    The odd thing is the desktop icon is still white just like it is with P5 V2.
