new Project 5 song -- "Quiet"

This will be my first song done entirely inside of Project 5. Instead of starting one in P5 and then finishing it with Sonar. I'm really starting to enjoy using P5. Check it out because I'm not finished, so any comments are welcome. The name of the song is "Quiet", for now. Its a little outside of the music I am used to making - but I like it.

Thanks,

JD

Sounds nice. The harmonica is a little piercing, on my system anyway.

I originally had a synth instead of the harmonica, and I have been thinking of changing it to guitar.

cool tune. love the guitar playing :)

The slide is very cool and ads a great uniqueness to the piece. Also you are getting some great sound on the guitars. Rhythm track a great tone on it.

I like this version better. I know it's just a creative choice and other may disagree, but the super distorted snare-like thingie on the left, to me, is a little too super distored. The other one, on the right, sounds nice.

dazed - Thanks, i stopped myself from doing any soloing on this, i didn't see how it would add anything. Just two guitars, one acoustic and one electric. The acoustic was miked, and heavy chorus and delay added to it. The electric guitar is going straight in to Amplitube.

Dean - I will go back and turn down the Camel Crusher. That is the same drum loop throughout the whole piece. First normal, then Camel Crusher added, then I used my audio editor (audicity) to delete the snare and some bass hits. And then added some elec. drums from P5's velocity. That's the snare you hear on the right. I hear some other things I might change also.

    Thanks guys!

jfstudio1 - i just downloaded your strat samples, and will give them a try, i feel like actually using them would be cheating, since i do considered myself to be a guitar player. i don't really have anymore ideas for this song. i would say it does have a chorus, bridge, chorus.

New intro, and more remixing, softened the fuzzed drums so the snare doesn't stand out so much.

Drums on this...one loop from the free set of Loop Masters that comes with Sonar 6. Took the one loop and messed with it, using Camel Crusher, NI B4II rotary effect, tempo delay, subtract bits and pieces using Audacity Audio Editor. Then added some drums samples using Velocity --- samples taken from Beta Monkey drum loop CDs (love those single hit folders), and the new Ambient Drums by Nucleus SoundLab.

The electric is my Warmoth Tele. I may go back and replay the melody line, just doesn't seem smooth enough for the song.

    JD,
Cool vibe, nice phat distorted slide guitar, quite expressive. Cool feel to the piece. Short though, could be made longer. Nice work.

Just an exquisite tune. That guitar tone is really beautiful. I mean, drums sound good, synth sounds good. But that guitar sounds just fantastic. I love it.

This was nice, although I personally like to make most of my music myself (guitar) I do use the software stuff. I like Kinetic 2 for my sounds and create my own grooves most with it. Nice job.

What a powerful bass element this is.. Filling my ears to say listen me..! Where you get this? Sounds like rapture. I enjoyed this music,

Hahahaaaaaaa I have listened MUSH..!!! make me laugh, i really enjoyed this sweet work, enters so great fully, but my ear look for another instrument to join like sax, or trumpet.. Don't you think?

I have listened all of your songs in there, other songs that i didn't mentioned here is too American to me, but all of them mixed very well, sound quality was perfect to me

mark , theguitarplayer, My Favorites :

Thanks for the kind words. The bass sound was either Rapture of Dim Pro - both have some of the best sounds around. Maybe I will go back and redo the Mush song, and put more work into it. I really just through that together really quick. Just some noodling and what not.

    Thanks,

JD, loved it. Nice change up around 2:15 and then kind of drifts into another mode toward the end. I never heard the previous versions, but it sounds like you've got an awful good mix now. Ear candy at it's finest IMO!!
