If I have Sonar producer 5 and want to upgrade to Home Studio XL would all my old features like Roland V Voice still be available or would I need to upgrade to Producer 6?

Hey shadoe42 - HSXL is not an upgrade from Sonar PE5. HSXL is a similar app, but with few features and functions. So, you could have both apps installed and have access to both.

Your already have the flagship program, being thats its only S5PE, you dont want to downgrade to homw studio, you should upgrade to S7PE, like all the OP's said.

actually I was just curious I was given a copy of XL (bless relatives who never actually ask which version you need) :) but I can easily run them side by side. And was just curious as to how the actual upgrade path went. So Home Studio and Sonar are two paths. No problemo :) Both have useful features :) Thanks all.
